https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/29536923-the-one-real-thingWelcome to Hartwell, a quiet seaside escape where
uncovering old secrets could lead one woman to discover the meaning of a love
that lasts…
While Doctor Jessica Huntington engages with the inmates
at the women’s correctional facility where she works, she’s always careful to
avoid emotional attachments in her personal life. Loss and betrayal taught her
that lesson long ago. But when she comes across a set of old love letters in
the prison’s library and visits the picturesque town of Hartwell to deliver
them to their intended recipient, she finds herself unable to resist the town’s
charm-and her attraction to the sexy owner of a local bar proves equally hard
to deny.
Since his divorce from his unfaithful ex-wife, Cooper
Lawson has focused on what really matters: his family and the boardwalk pub
they’ve owned for generations. But the first time Jessica steps into his bar,
Cooper is beyond tempted to risk his heart on her.
Yet as their attraction grows hotter and Jessica remains
stubbornly closed off, he begins to realize it will take more than just passion
to convince her there’s only one real thing in life worth fighting for….

My Review:

Last year I read ‘Hero’ by Samantha Young and completely
fell in love with that book and the authors writing. So when I was asked to
review ‘The One Real Thing’ I was super excited and couldn’t wait to start
reading. After seeing that beautiful looking cover I was even more enthusiastic
to start reading.
‘The One Real Thing’ is the first book in a new series
set in the beautiful and picturesque town of Hartwell. In ‘The One Real Thing’
we meet Doctor Jessica Huntington. Jessica spend her whole life working hard to
become a doctor and to forget about her past. When Jessica finds a couple of
love letters written by a woman years ago, she can’t stop thinking about
getting those letters to the man they were written to. Before she really knows
what she’s doing Jessica is on her way to Hartwell to spend her vacation in the
little town and get those letters to the right person. But what Jessica didn’t
expect was to fall in love with the little town and the people that life there.
I really love books about little towns and the people who
live there. Small town life just always sounds so charming to me. So when I
started reading this book and soon found out how charming the little town of
Hartwell was, I was hooked. And even better the main characters Jessica and
Cooper really made me love this book from the beginning till the end.
Jessica is this sweet and kind person, who realizes she
really isn’t happy with the live she’s living.
Unfortunately for her she has kept this big secret for a long time, and
she just doesn’t really know how to open up to people. When she meets all these
kind, open and loving people she soon finds a place she wants to call her home.
Especially after she meets Cooper.
There was some serious chemistry between Jessica and
Cooper and I loved reading their story. I just couldn’t stop reading this book
from the moment I started. I especially loved reading those moments between
Jessica and Cooper. There were a lot of sexy and sweet moments between them
which made this book totally one of my new favorites.
‘The One Real Thing’ is a great, romantic and beautiful
story. And I just really love the little town of Hartwell. I can’t wait to read
the next book in this series about Bailey, the kind and beautiful Inn owner.
March is just too far away!
