I’m a jilted bride who needs to heal, not a damsel looking for a hero—no matter how good he is with his hands.
I ran away to Valentine Bay looking for a place to hide from my cheating ex. I didn’t expect the scumbag to follow me or for the small town’s beautiful, brooding bachelor to swoop in and save my dignity by posing as my new fiancé.
But Joshua Ford—surfer god with a hero complex—has a haunted past, and he’s determined to leave it (and me) behind. So, we make a deal. As soon as my ex gets the message and gets lost, Josh and I will go our separate ways.
In the meantime, where’s the harm in a little misbehaviour between the sheets—or on the dining table?
The first time is so delicious, we go back for seconds… and thirds… until our appetite wreaks havoc on both our broken hearts.
With my chance at happiness pinned on a man not ready to fall in love, I have to wonder: where’s a hero when you really need one?

When Samantha approached me a little while ago with the question if I wanted to read and review her books I got really excited. I saw that her books where small town romance stories, and since that is one of my favorite kind of romance stories, I knew I wanted to give her books a try. And when the time came, I dove right in.

In ‘Ready For You’ we read the story of Emily and Josh. Emily recently moved to the small town of Valentine Bay to start over after her fiancé ended things only days before the wedding. Emily is determined to change her life around. She is going to make some friends, get a nice job and maybe even find a nice guy without losing herself in the process.

Josh hasn’t really been living these last view years. After losing his girlfriend in a horrible accident, he is determined to make sure he ‘deserves’ to life. He works hard as a paramedic, and doesn’t date.. at all. And soon he is finally going to move away from this small town. But when Josh meets Emily, who is being harassed by her ex-fiancé, he can’t keep his distance. He is determined to help Emily out. A fake wedding sounds like the perfect way to get rid of Emily’s ex. Right?

‘Ready For You’ was right from the start a very entertaining read. I loved the small town of Valentine Bay, and I loved the characters right from the start. Both Emily and Josh’s character where really fun to get to know and I was rooting for them right from the start. And there were also plenty of side characters that I loved reading about, and really hope to be able to read more about in the next book in this series.

The romance was fun and sexy and I loved how easily both Emily and Josh got swept away by each other. Not that they would truly admit their feelings so easily obviously! Their interactions where so fun and entertaining and I found myself invested in this book right away.

The writing was fun and easy to read. The whole fake wedding part felt like a bit much, but it worked. And I loved how this book was set in a small town in Australia. I honestly am just in awe that this was only the authors first book. I can’t wait what she has in store for us next.

About Samantha Leigh

Samantha Leigh is an Australian author of steamy small town romance. Her first series is set in a fictional beach-side town called Valentine Bay, and because she's the writer and it's within her power to do so, she filled the Bay with a disproportionate number of divine, dirty-talking surfers. It's a hard job, but someone's got to do it.

In the tiny slices of time she has between all the word wrangling, Sam likes to hit her yoga mat, go for walks in the bush or on the beach, continue her search for the perfect poke bowl, drown herself in coffee and hot cacao, and binge-watch bad television.
