Foreign war correspondent Tanner Thomas is addicted to living on the edge.
Needing the adrenaline rush of his job to help him cope with a personal loss,
he throws himself back into the game, concentrating all his energy on getting
the next big story.

But when he meets his new photojournalist, Beaux Croslyn, he can’t help but
feel like he’s losing his focus—and maybe risking more…

With secrets she won’t address, Beaux is far from your ordinary woman.
Determined to keep her distance, she’s willing to pull Tanner in closer and
hide behind the sparks flying between them. But as Beaux’s past begins to put
their relationship—and their lives—at risk, Tanner’s determination to find the
truth puts them both in jeopardy.

He’s ready to chase her to the ends of the earth to find out if what they had
was real, or if the danger surrounding them was just an exquisite heat fated to
burn out…

My Review:

When I received ‘Hard Beat’ by K. Bromberg a view weeks
ago, I was super excited. ‘Hard Beat’ is the seventh book in the Driven series,
and the third book by K. Bromberg I was going to read. Since I really loved
‘Slow Burn’ and ‘Sweet Ache’, I couldn’t wait to start reading this one.

In ‘Hard Beat’ we meet Tanner Thomas, a successful
journalist who lives for the thrill of finding a good story. At least that was
the case until he lost his best friend because he couldn’t keep her safe. Now
Tanner is determined to get the thrill back and forget all the bad stuff that happened.
But Tanner isn’t prepared for Beaux, a beautiful photographer that makes him
feel things he never expected to feel. But Beaux is keeping secrets and soon
those secrets are chancing everything.
Ever since I read ‘Slow Burn’ I love K. Bromberg’s
writing. Something about her stories just makes me want to keep reading and
never stop. The characters she creates are intense, and impossible to forget.
‘Hard Beat’ isn’t an exception. This book was amazing from the start and I
wanted it to go on forever.
Tanner and Beaux are a great couple to read about! They
fight, they argue and they make up! And above all they make each other laugh
and they can talk about everything. I loved getting to know them.
But what I loved most about this book was the whole
journalist, and being in a war zone stuff. It was just so original and it
really kept me on my toes because I was so scared of things going wrong.
Especially near the end of the book, there was a lot of
stuff happening and it felt like I was inside this roller-coaster. Although I
had a feeling about one of the characters from the beginning, I really didn’t
expect this ending and it was really good.
My favorite character was definitely Tanner. I just loved
his personality and the way he acted when he realized he may be feeling a
little more for Beaux than he wanted. I loved those fights between them! LOL!!
It was just so good to read. And Tanner definitely created a lot of hot scenes
in this book.
Yep, this was definitely another amazing book. K.
Bromberg is definitely able to make you forget the world around you.

About the Author:

K. Bromberg was born and raised in Southern California.
She graduated from University of California at San Diego with two
bachelors-economics and political science-but always loved to write.
K. Bromberg remains in Southern California with her
husband and their three young children. When not writing or working her day
job, she can be found playing ninjas or power rangers with her son, fixing the
hair of her oldest daughter’s American girl doll, or doing ‘arts and crafts’
with her youngest daughter, or listening to any or all of them
fight/whine/laugh at once. When she needs a break from the daily chaos, you can
almost always find her with Kindle in hand, devouring the pages of a good book
or mentally outlining her next set of characters.
