She's his opposite in every way...and the greatest temptation he's ever known.
Reserved, controlled, and proper to a fault, Kai Young has neither the time nor inclination for chaos—and Isabella, with her purple hair and inappropriate jokes, is chaos personified.
With a crucial CEO vote looming and a media empire at stake, the billionaire heir can’t afford the distraction she brings.
Isabella is everything he shouldn’t want, but with every look and every touch, he’s tempted to break all his rules…and claim her as his own.

Bold, impulsive, and full of life, Isabella Valencia has never met a party she doesn’t like or a man she couldn’t charm...except for Kai Young.
It shouldn’t matter. He’s not her type—the man translates classics into Latin for fun, and his membership at the exclusive club where she bartends means he’s strictly off limits.
But she can’t deny that, beneath his cool exterior, is a man who could make her melt with just a touch.
No matter how hard they try, they can’t resist giving into their forbidden desires.
Even if it costs them everything.

Ana Huang is one of those authors which books are all on my most anticipated lists. I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of her ARC team this last year, and I’ve been so excited to read ‘King of Pride’. ‘King of Pride’ is the second book in the Kings of Sin series and I devoured this book.

In ‘King of Pride’ we read the story of Isabella and Kai. Isabella is a wannabe author, and works at the bar of an exclusive club to make her money. When she is not working, Isabella works on her book. But things aren’t going as well as she would have liked. The last thing she needs is to be attracted to Kai. Especially since he is everything she shouldn’t want. He is nothing like her. But there is an attraction between them, both can’t deny.

Kai is in the race to become the CEO of his family business. All he has been doing for years is work and making sure that everything goes the way he plans. Kai never loses, and he is used to getting everything he wants. And the last thing he should want is Isabella, the waitress with the purple hair. But he can’t seem to stay away from her, even though he really tries.

Now, what didn’t I love about ‘King of Pride’? Well, the only thing I can think of is that I didn’t liked this book ending. Because everything else, from the very first page on was amazing. I loved getting to know Isabella and Kai. They where two totally different people, and the chemistry between them was right from the start simply amazing. There where many slow burn moments, and I just couldn’t put this book down.

My favorite character was definitely Kai. He was a reader himself, British and handsome. And he just went straight up to the top of my BBF list.

The best thing about ‘King of Pride’, was the fact we get to read this story through both Isabella and Kai’s point of view. I loved reading their struggles, their reservations about each other and the way they where so different but worked. I loved Kai’s British seriousness, and Isabella’s fun and charming ways. It was simply addicting to read their story.

As we know about Ana Huang, she can write some steamy books.. and ‘King of Pride’ had some very steamy moments. But the romance and connection between the two main characters was even more amazing and I loved every single moment in this book. And you know what was also really fun? The Buffy reference. I knew I loved Ana Huang’s writing, but that made it even better.

‘King of Pride’ was a great read that was even better than the first book in this series if you ask me. I can’t wait to read more books by Ana and definitely recommend you’ll start reading this series!
