After reading and loving ‘Twisted Love’, the first book in the Twisted series a few weeks back, I was super excited to read ‘Twisted Games’. And luckily for me Ana was looking for some readers for her ARC team, and I got picked. I can’t even tell you excited I was and still am. So ...KEEP READING »

Twisted Love (Twisted, #1)

Twisted Love (Twisted, #1)

When I received an email from Ana Huang a little while ago with the request for me to read ‘Twisted Love’, I was immediately intrigued. I read two other books by Ana before, and I definitely enjoyed them. And after reading the book description, I knew this was a book I had to read.

In ‘Twisted Love’ we read the story of Ava Chen and Alex Volkov. Ana is Alex’s best friends little sister. Ava has a very happy personality and always tries to make the best of things. Alex on the other hand is very dark and twisty (see what I did there Grey’s fans? 😀 ). When Ava and Alex are forced to spend more time together they slowly grow closer. But they are definitely two very different people, living two very different lives. Alex isn’t a ‘good’ guy and he doesn’t always have the best intentions. But there is this insane chemistry between them and it’s almost impossible to stay away from each other.

Let’s, start by saying this book was definitely my favorite from Ana Huang so far. Especially while reading the first few chapters, I was crying my eyes out from laughing so hard. There where some hilarious moments between these characters, and I just couldn’t stop laughing. My husband almost got worried when I couldn’t stop. Yes.. it was just really funny.

But next to being hilarious, I also loved the chemistry between Ava and Alex. It was easy to see that Ava really liked Alex from the start. She always sees the best in people. But Alex’s character was much harder to get to know. And I loved how his tough exterior slowly melted through Ava’s influence.

The one thing what I didn’t like in this book was the names Alex called Ava during sex. Sure he was a tough guy, but he was also super protective of Ava and him calling her these names just didn’t fitted in my opinion. And I just don’t think a woman being called those names is necessary at all. But luckily for me, this name calling only really happened in the beginning.

There were several twists in this book, and I definitely enjoyed those and didn’t see them coming at all. Which is something that doesn’t happen to me often.

‘Twisted Love’ was a very romantic, and also suspenseful book that kept me hooked. There is a lot happening, and at times I thought it was maybe a little too much.. but I loved it. I definitely can’t wait to read more books in this series.

If the Sun Never Sets (If Love Duet #2)

In July I read ‘If We Ever Meet Again’, the first book in the If Love Duet. I really enjoyed that book and was anxious to read the second book. So when I got the opportunity to read ‘If The Sun Never Sets Again’ I started reading as soon as possible.

‘If The Sun Never Sets Again’ begins five years after the moment where the first book ended. Farrah and Blake have both had very busy lives. Blake has build a sports bar empire. And Farrah has a great job as an interior designer. When they both find themselves in New York, and accidentally meet it seems like fate.

I enjoyed the first book, but I loved this book. This book felt so much more grown up. Yes, the characters where more my age than in the previous book, but the romance and chemistry between Farrah and Blake also just felt much more real to me. And I could easily connect with the emotions both characters went through.

While Farrah obviously cared for Blake, he broke her heart all those years ago and she wasn’t easily convinced this time things would be different. I definitely got that, and I loved how strong her character was.

‘If The Sun Never Sets Again’ was the perfect conclusion to this duet. I loved how Ana Huang was able to get this perfect, real ending for these two characters. The questions I was left with after reading the first book, where now answered. Overall the If Love Duet was definitely a great read.

If We Ever Meet Again (If Love Duet #1)

If We Ever Meet Again (If Love Duet #1)

When I received a review request a little while ago by Ana Huang and read the book description of ‘If We Ever Meet Again’, I knew this was a book I wanted to read. As a huge romance lover, this book just sounded so good. And then that cover… I mean wow!! Don’t you just love that cover?!

‘If We Ever Meet Again’ is the story of Farrah and Blake. Two total opposites who meet when they are both in China for a study year abroad. They don’t have a lot in common and they both have totally different lives. But opposites attract and they have an instant connection with each other. And slowly on they grow closer and closer.

This book was definitely a lot of fun to read. I loved getting to know Farrah and Blake. Two totally different characters, and an immediate connection they both not really understand right away.  They have a chemistry between them, that you can easily feel coming of the pages. And I definitely enjoyed their romance.

The writing in this book is easy to read and the setting is amazing. I think this is one of my first reads that took place in China, and I loved reading about that country a little more. It was so fun to read about their trip to the Chinese wall for example,  that part was definitely very original.

Their where also a lot of side characters, and other friendships throughout this book that made for an interesting read. I wouldn’t be me if I had a little trouble keeping all these characters a part, but it didn’t bother me.

Some parts in this story felt a little slow to me though. And I could easily predict what was going to happen for most of the book. But this didn’t bother me that much. The end was a bit confusing.. I just wished Blake would have communicated better with Farah. But if there is one thing that this book did perfectly.. Is making me want to read the next book.

‘If We Ever Meet Again’ is the first book in a duet and I definitely can’t wait to read book two. I really enjoyed this charming romantic story.
