This year was a great reading year. I’ve read 141
books. I can’t believe I’ve read so many great books. I still feel like I did
not have enough time and I still wanted to read many more books. But that’s
probably how I will feel for the rest of my life since I will never have too
much reading time.

There have been a lot of different sorts of books in my
reading list this year. I’ve read Romance novels, Historical Romance,
Detectives, Fantasy and Paranormal books. Some books have stayed with me while
others were fun but not so memorable. Yep, it definitely has been an
interesting book year for me.
There have been many great books in my reading list this
year and I can’t possible give them all a spot in this year’s favorite list
(believe me I’ve tried), but I’ve made a Top Ten. It was really difficult but
here they are.. My Favorite Reads of 2015.
(This Top Ten has been written in the order of which I
read these books. I have no number one or number Ten, it’s just in reading
order! 😉 )

‘Just Pru’ by Anne Pfeffer

When twenty-five-year-old Pru Anderson—braless,
pajama-clad, and clutching her cat, Chuck—is rescued from her burning Los
Angeles apartment, the thing that scares her most is meeting the neighbors. New
people make her hide in the bathroom, counting by sevens, but when her home is
destroyed, she must turn strangers into friends … or crawl back to the
controlling parents she only recently escaped.
What would her idol, Pepper Hathaway, do? That’s a no
brainer: the detective-slash-supermodel heroine from Pru’s favorite TV series
would take no prisoners while looking fierce in a tankini and stilettos. So
when the chance comes up to live with playwright Ellen, Pru sets aside her
fears and goes for it.
Thus begin the adventures of a girl who’s never had a
job, a friend, or a first kiss. Swept into Ellen’s whirlwind life, Pru begins
to build her own, as director’s assistant for a new play, muse to brooding
actor Blake, and possible love interest to adorably neurotic neighbor, Adam.

Only one thing can derail Pru’s exhilarating journey. Well, actually, it’s two
things—and they’re in a car headed straight for LA to torpedo her life. When
the past that nearly destroyed her comes calling, who will she be: a Prudence
or a Pepper?
‘Just Pru’ really
blowed my mind. And I know for sure that I will be thinking of this book for a
long, long time. This book deserves to be up on a bestseller list. It really
was that good!

‘Hero’ by Samantha Young

The explosive, emotional and unforgettable new romance
from the NYT bestselling author of the On Dublin Street series.

Alexa Holland’s father was her hero-until her shocking
discovery. Ever since, Alexa has worked to turn her life in a different
direction and forge her own identity outside of his terrible secrets. But when

help him.

at redemption, but it’s not so easy to push her away. Determined to make her
hate him, he brings her to the edge of her patience and waits for her to walk

an intense and all-consuming affair.
Only Caine knows he can never be the white knight that
Alexa has always longed for, and when they’re on the precipice of danger, he
finds he’ll do anything to protect either one of them from being hurt again . .
.

This book is
passionate, hot, sexy, romantic and also really damn funny…. I would definitely
recommend this book to other romance readers. This book is going on my favorite
list. I loved it from the beginning until the end and there wasn’t one part I
didn’t enjoy.

‘Death Wish’ by Megan Tayte

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/24873066-death-wish(Read in March 2015)

I search of the meaning of death, she’ll find the meaning
of life.

The Ceruleans: mere mortals infusted with power over life
and death. Five books: one question: if the might of the heavens were in your
hands, would you be sinner or saint?
Seventeen-year-old Scarlett Blake is haunted by death.
Her estranged sister has made the ultimate dramatic exit. Running away from
school, joining a surfing fraternity, partying hard: that sounds like Sienna.
But suicide? It makes no sense.

Following in her sister’s footsteps, Scarlett comes to the isolated cove of
Twycombe, Devon, with grand plans to uncover the truth. Alone. But she hasn’t
reckoned on meeting two boys who are determined to help her. Luke: the
blue-eyed surfer who’ll see the real Scarlett, who’ll challenge her, who’ll
save her. And Jude: the elusive drifter with a knack for turning up whenever
Scarlett’s in need.

As Scarlett’s quest for the truth unravels, so too does her grip on reality as
she’s always known it. Because there’s something strange going on in this
little cove. A dead magpie circles the skies. A dead deer watches from the
undergrowth. Hands glow with light. Warmtt. Power.

What transpires is a summer of discovery. Of what it means to conquer fear. To
fall in love. To choose life. To choose death.

To believe the impossible.

This book is just very well written. There is a lot of
mystery and it’s very unpredictable. Until the very end I didn’t have a clue
about how this book would end. And to be honest, I think this book is the
perfect example of how the first book in a series must be. It definitely made
me want to keep reading and I honestly can’t wait to read more books in this
series.

‘Slow Burn’ by K. Bromberg

Get ready, because one night is about to
change everything.

One night. That’s all it was supposed to be . . .

Reeling from the sudden loss of her sister,
Haddie Montgomery has sworn off relationships. All she wanted from Beckett
Daniels was a sexy distraction to help her escape her pain for just a little
while . . .There weren’t supposed to be any strings attached-so why can’t she
shake the memory of that unforgettable night from her thoughts? Or the taste of
his kiss from her lips?
No matter how hard Haddie tries to forget
about him, Becks relentlessly tries to prove that she should start living for
today. But she is determined to avoid romantic commitment, and she can always
use her ex-boyfriend’s reappearance to help snuff out the slow burn within her
that Becks has sparked . . .
Or will fate force her to realize that this
kind of connection doesn’t come along very often and a chance at love is worth
the risk?
This book keeps you hooked until the very
last page, and even then you still really don’t want it to end. I loved this
book and I loved the emotions. K. Bromberg truly did an excellent job and I
can’t love this book more than I do now!

‘Brokedown Cowboy’ by Maisey Yates

cross, but in Copper Ridge, Oregon, the temptation might be too much…

crush in check. But helping Connor rebuild his life only reinforces how much
she longs to be a part of it. One explosive encounter, and she’ll discover that

Brokedown Cowboy’ is a romantic story, but
also a story filled with friendship, hurt and above all hope. It teaches us to
always keep hoping… Even if life seems to be all wrong and not worth living..
the most important thing to do is keep hope. This book was really an emotional
rollercoaster. It’s a sad story but most of all really beautiful.

‘Striking Out’ by Scarlet Bennett

Sparkling with
distinctive Australian humour, this action-packed novel follows one small-town
girl’s fight to reach the top.
Sharon Jackson is a
small-town girl with big-city dreams. Forced out of her home in regional
Western Australia with her singing career in ruins, she hits the big smoke in

percent cut of her earnings, she struggles to earn a place in the macho world

go back to and a past that won’t stay buried, everything she has worked for is
on the line. Shazza must make a decision that will define the course of her
future, and time is running out.
This book was
amazing and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to read this one. I read it in
one sitting, and it just wasn’t long enough.

‘The Soldiers Wife’ by Pamela Hart

Inspired by the true story of the author’s own family history, The
Soldier’s Wife is a heart-soaring story of passion, love and loss and learning
how to live when all you hold dear is threatened.
It is 1915 and the world is being torn apart, but
newlyweds Ruby and Jimmy Hawkins are sure their love will survive the trauma
and tragedy of war. Sent away to fight in the desperate battles raging in
Gallipoli, Jimmy plans for the future they promised each other and struggles to
keep his dreams whole amidst the brutality of the trenches.
Back home in Sydney, Ruby reads his romantic letters,
full of longing. But as weeks slip into months she is forced to forge her own
life. A new job throws her into a man’s world fraught with complications and as
the lives of those around her begin to shatter, a powerful new attraction
beckons. Realising she must change to truly find her way, Ruby discovers her
own strength and independence – but will the price be her marriage?
In the end I cried.
I cried because of how it ended, because of the way this book had made me feel
and because of what was lost, and above all because it ended. I wasn’t ready to let Ruby and Jimmy go..

‘Playing With Fire’ by Alison Bliss

Nothing ignites a fire like the perfect match…

Anna Weber is every inch the proper librarian–old-fashioned, conservatively
dressed right down to her tightly clipped flaming red hair. She’s just moved to
a small Texas town, and is determined to spend time with her friend before she
has to disappear. Relationships aren’t easy for her. She knows too well what it
means to be burned. And the last thing she ever wants to do is fall in love…

Especially not with a fireman who’s hot enough to set the entire state of Texas
on fire.

Cowboy can’t resist the fiery little librarian, and he’s determined to make her
his. Beneath that prim-and-proper exterior is a woman he very much wants to
know–if she’d let him. She’ll test his patience. His control. Hell, his very
sanity. And for the first time, Cowboy wonders if he’s found the one fire he
can’t control…

Not only is this book a great, steamy and hot
romance but there’s also quite a lot of mystery. I really
loved the combination of these two genres.

‘Power Play’ by Tiffany Snow

This kind of business can only be
personal..
Sage Reese lives for her job. More
precisely, she lives for her debonair boss, Parker Andersen. Sage handles
everything for Parker, even as she fantasizes about the one thing that isn’t in
her job description: him. But when a high-stakes account crosses the line from
shady to deadly, a tough cop starts giving Sage the attention she wishes Parker
would . . .
Detective Dean Ryker couldn’t be more
different from Parker. While Parker wears expensive suits like a second skin
and drives a BMW, Ryker’s uniform is leather jackets and jeans . . . and his
ride of choice is a Harley. While Parker’s sexiness is a reserved, slow burn,
Ryker is completely upfront about what-and who-he’s after. And Sage tops his
list.
Now, as Ryker digs deeper into the dark
side of Parker’s business, Sage finds herself caught between two men: the one
she’s always wanted – and the one who makes her feel wanted like never before .
. .

This book was amazing and it definitely is one
of my new favorites. I can’t wait to have my hands on book two and three
because I just have to know what will happen next.

‘Cinder’ by Marissa Meyer

A wicked mash-up of fairy tale and
Terminator—set in a Star Wars kind of world—Marissa Meyer’s Cinder is a fresh
and fiercely ingenious futuristic retelling of Cinderella.
Humans and androids crowd the raucous

ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that

she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a
forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal,

Well, where should I start? For one, why on
earth did I wait so long to start reading this book?  I definitely need to make more time for the
books on my TBR because I completely loved this book and should have read it
ages ago!

What is your favorite read of 2015? And what do you think of my list?
