Over the years I’ve visited a lot of bookstores. A trip
to the bookstore is like this huge present to me. I always feel amazing and
happy when I am strolling through a bookstore. And over the years I’ve
definitely visited some bookstores that were just amazing. Not only because
they looked great, or had all the books I liked.. but also because they just
felt great. Really.. some bookstores just give you this amazing feeling. And
I’m going to share the five bookstores I love best with you here today!

Waterstones – Amsterdam

The Waterstones in Amsterdam is my favorite bookstore in
the Netherlands. Not only is this the place to go if you want some English
books, but it is also located in a beautiful old building in the middle of one
of the most beautiful cities in the world. It has four floors, the staff is
always very kind and there are all kinds of amazing books to find here. I can
never get enough of this store.

Shakespeare & Company –  Paris

I visited the Shakespeare & Company bookstore in
Paris in 2013. If you’re a book fan and you are in Paris, you definitely need
to go here. It is a beautiful, old and charismatic store with a lot of great
books. I just didn’t want to leave this story anymore. There are these little
stairs so you can reach every book and it just feels magical there.

Foyles – London

When I first visited London in May 2015 I was amazed by
the many bookstores there. I didn’t have the time to visit them all, but I’m
going to one day. The bookstore that really stayed with my after that trip was
Foyles. This bookstore was just so huge but still had this really comfy feel to
it. There were books everywhere, and there were even some nice places to sit
for my boyfriend. I loved it there, and browsed the store for at least an hour
and a half.

Dominicanen – Maastricht

I’ve only visited this bookstore two times but it is
beautiful. Domincanen is located in an old church in the middle of Maastricht.
And it’s just gorgeous. The last time I was there, they had a really nice
selection of English books.
But the best thing was definitely the way this store was
build, while remaining the integrity of the old church.

Scheltema – Amsterdam

Another bookstore I really love is Scheltema in
Amsterdam. It was relocated and remodeled recently and the new store is really
amazing. It has a lot of floors filled with new and secondhand books, Dutch and
English. And they even have a nice little restaurant inside it, with some very
good cake. I love going there with my mom when we are in Amsterdam.
