Jaxon is the guy she’s supposed to avoid …
year, when a mistake leaves her the talk of her college campus and her
carefully arranged life comes crashing to a halt. Now she’s stuck in her small
hometown for the summer to complete her court-ordered community service, and to
make matters worse, trouble is living right next door.
K.C. is the girl he won’t let get away …
what K.C. was supposed to stay away from in high school. But he never forgot
her. She was the one girl who wouldn’t give him the time of day and the only
one to ever say no. Fate has brought K.C. back into his life – except what he
thought was a great twist of luck turns out to be too close for comfort. As
they grow closer, he discovers that convincing K.C. to get out from her
mother’s shadow is hard, but revealing the darkest parts of his soul is nearly
impossible.
My Review:
was my first book by this author and I was completely hooked. I loved that
book. I received the book from the Little, Brown Book Group and since I really
loved it, I let them know. Two weeks ago I received, a package with an ARC version of ‘Falling
Away’ by Penelope Douglas the new book in her Fall Away Series. It was one of
the best Christmas presents this year. I was just so happy and couldn’t wait to
start reading.
Jaxon Trent. K.C. seems to be a perfect girl. She always follows the rules and
she always looks like she came walking right out of a designer store.
and everybody lets him. They seem to have nothing in common, but still there
has been a definite chemistry between them for years. But K.C. never gave in to
this chemistry. When K.C. returns to her old hometown after two years, where
Jaxon is still living, they both soon find out that they both never forgot
about each other and that nobody is perfect.
the very first page, you feel like you know these characters. This is
definitely not a slow build story. You immediately get pulled into this story,
and of course I just couldn’t stop reading anymore. I love love loved Jaxon.
Even though he seems to be a very bad and angry guy in the beginning I just
loved him from the start. He was just fun angry. And learning what he had been
through when he was little, well I could have understand him being much more
angry. The chemistry between K.C. and Jaxon was from the beginning very
addictive. I loved how they slowly, very slowly, became closer and how they
both saved each other.
seemed to have a perfect life but soon you learn that nothing is perfect. In
this book, K.C. grew out to be a strong and independent woman. I loved how she
finally got the strength to take control of her own life and she completely
followed her heart even though it scared the crap out of her.
sexy, but also sometimes sad and heartbreaking. It was really going up and
down. I loved it and couldn’t get enough.
No emotions keep hidden and she was completely able to make me feel like I was
living inside this story.
to do with my life now?? Thankfully, I still have to read ‘Bully’ and ‘Until
You’, so I still have those books to look forward to. Thank God!!! And don’t
let me forget about ‘Aflame’, book four in the Away series. That one is also
coming in 2015! I can’t wait.
