Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic:
I’m definitely someone that always thinks of new goals at the beginning of the year. Halfway through the year I might forget all about those goals… but in the end I always like to look back at them and see how I’ve done. So, this year is no different and I definitely made some Bookish Goals. I don’t have ten, but here are my 6 Bookish Goals:
- Goodreads Reading Challenge 100 books
Every year since 2014 I enter the Goodreads Challenge. Not because I necessarily think I need to read so many books, I mostly wish I could read more, but to keep track of the books I read. It’s definitely one of my favorite book goals every year. And I love looking at what other people read on Goodreads. Last year I didn’t reach my goal, I only got to 97, but I’m still pretty excited about it.
- Thrifty Thursday Challenge
I always get a lot of freebies through newsletters or through Amazon. And I rarely remember to read them or get to them. So this year I’ve joined Anne from Books of my Heart in her Thrifty Thursday Challenge. For this Challenge I plan to read at least 10 freebies this year.
- Netgalley Feedback Ratio to 80%
For several years I’ve had my Netgalley account. I’ve requested several books through there, and I also got some books from publishers through Netgalley. But like every TBR list, I just have to many books to read and to little time to actually read them. I’m currently at a feedback ratio of 70% and I really hope to be able to get it 80%.
- Maureen’s Books on Instagram
For several months I’ve been trying to post more on my Maureen’s Books Instagram page. I love to get more followers and share more on there. But it’s definitely very time consuming to do. But hopefully I’ll manage this year.

- Finish more Series
Every year I read a lot of series, and some of them I even end up finishing. But a lot of them I don’t finish. For example the Lunar Chronicles, and The Shadow and Bone Trilogy series. I’ve loved the first books in these series, but I just don’t seem to be able to start the next book in the series. This year I plan on finishing more series.
- Read More Books from my TBR
Probably every reader has this goal every year, but I’m no different. This year I plan on reading more books on my TBR instead of only adding more books. I have this cart standing in our bedroom and it’s getting way to full. So I definitely plan to make this goal a priority.
What are some of your Bookish Goals of 2023?

Always a goal of mine as well to read more of the books on my shelf rather than continuously collect NEW books. One of these years I’ll make progress with that reading goal. 🙂 Hope you successfully meet some of your goals in 2023.
Thank you Rissi. I think this is a goal we will keep having for the rest of our time 😀
I have being more active/creative on Instagram on my list as well but like you I know it’s time-consuming to do it well.
It definitely is. Good luck Cathy.
I, too, hope to read more books from my shelves instead of adding more. I feel like that is something all readers hope to do.

Good luck Pam. 😉
Ooh nice set of goals! I want to read more of my TBR books this year as well! Might possibly be doable as every year I feel like I’m seeing less and less new books I want to read but then I find books from already favorite authors and add those to my stacks as well! Lol! It’s an endless cycle!
Here’s my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
Thank you Jessica. Fingers crossed we finally achieve these goals. LOL!!
I also had finishing more series and completing my Goodreads Challenge on my list this week. I also mostly use the Goodreads Challenge as a way of keeping track of what I’ve read in any given year rather than treating it as a challenge as such.

Goodreads is definitely handy for that stuff. Good luck Jo.
All of these are great! I especially love reading more off your TBR.
Thanks Deanna.
Great goals! And I love the Thrifty Thursday challenge – I have sooooo many freebies!
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
Thank you. Those freebies are hard to resist. 😀
Good luck with your goals
Thank you Anita.
I started making an active effort to complete series a year or so ago and it’s been so satisfying to finish the! 🙂
I’ve seen that on your blog. I definitely hope to achieve that as well this year. 😉
Those are all good bookish goals. I’m doing Thrifty Thursday and a TBR challenge to work on both those goals, too. A few years ago I got my NetGalley goal and I’ve been keeping the percentage high.
Cheering for you to make good on your goals, Maureen!
I love that you’ve been able to keep your Netgally percentage up. I definitely want to achieve that goal mostly this year. I think it sounds like one that is the most achievable. 😀
Good luck on you 2023 goals.
Thank you.
All great goals, Maureen and several are similar to others posts I have read today. I hope you do well with these goals in 2023.
Thank you Carla.
That Netgalley feedback ratio thing, yup (although my goals aren’t as lofty as yours, but I’m starting in a much deeper hole as well). Good luck with all your reading goals this year.
Thank you Katie. Good luck to you as well.
A lot of people are making 2023 goals to make progress in and finish series books. This makes me so happy because it reminds me that I’m not alone in getting stuck in the middle of series and never making it out! Ha ha. Good luck with your goals!
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

You’re definitely not alone Susan. Good luck with your goals as well. 😉
These are all great goals! I do love seeing you over on Instagram 🙂 I hope to read more from my shelves this year too!
Thank you Carole.
My goodreads goal is 100 too.
Good luck Carol.
They are great goals. Instagram is so time consuming, but I enjoy it 🙂
Have a great week!

Thank you. Instagram is definitely fun.. and a bit addicting at times. LOL!
Good luck with your Netgalley rating! I really should try to clean mine up, too.
Thank you Jennifer.
I definitely need to read more from my own tbr! Good luck!
Thank you Lauren. Good Luck to you as well.
