GoodreadsTwo best friends. One summer. A second chance to fall in love.
Nico and Stella. Stella and Nico. For years, where one went, the other followed.
But a drunken, emotional mistake four years ago ruined everything. Nico left, and forgot me.
With Nico’s return, all I wanted was to forget the past and get my friend back. But his proximity caused old, forbidden feelings to resurface.
A fact which made life harder when I had to move in with him. How could I ignore him when he was sleeping across the hall?
And sliding into my bed every night to read to me.
And mowing the lawn while shirtless.
And hugging me close when I was sad.
And playing along with my weird scenarios even when I drove him crazy.
The man was temptation incarnate and I lacked total impulse control.
What could possibly go wrong?
If you’re a regular here on Maureen’s Books, you know that I love all kinds of romance novels. But I always had a soft spot for the friends-to-lover trope. So when I received a review request for ‘Drive Me Crazy’, I got super excited and couldn’t wait to start reading.
In ‘Drive Me Crazy’ we follow the story of Nico and Stella. Nico and Stella have been best friends for years. But when they kiss, after a drunken night, Nico disappears. For four years Nico hasn’t been a part of Stella’s life. But now he is back and wants to make things up to Stella. But how can she trust him to stay this time?
‘Drive Me Crazy’ was from the start a very fun read. In the prologue, in which we read about the characters first meeting, we get a glimpse of the history between Nico and Stella. And it was a perfect start, which definitely made me want to keep on reading.
Throughout this book we slowly get to know the characters more and more. I loved reading this story through both Nico and Stella’s point of view. It made me care for the characters so much more. Although the story was a bit slow at times, and I found Stella’s character a bit frustrating, I loved getting to know these characters and their story.
Unfortunately I didn’t really feel the chemistry between Nico and Stella as much as I’d hoped. But the fun banter between these two characters definitely made up for it a bit. I definitely did wish Nico and Stella communicated a bit better at times, but overall I enjoyed reading their story.
‘Drive Me Crazy’ was a fun read, with interesting characters.

This one sounds like it’s on the lighter side with some good humor, but not feeling the chemistry between the main characters really takes it down a notch.
It definitely had it’s perks. But overal it wasn’t really for me.
