The kitchen knife jammed into his cold heart pinned a
cardboard sign to his well-toned chest. It read: Santa Says You’ve Been Bad!!!
Ho, Ho, Ho!

It’s Christmas, but Lieutenant Eve Dallas is in no mood
to celebrate. While her charismatic husband Roarke plans a huge, glittering
party, Eve has murder on her mind.

The victim – personal trainer Trey Ziegler – was trouble in life and is causing
even more problems in death. Vain, unfaithful and vindictive, Trey had cultivated
a lot of enemies. Which means Eve has a lot of potential suspects. And when she
and Detective Peabody uncover Trey’s sinister secret, the case takes a deadly
turn.

Christmas may be a festival of light, but Eve and Roarke will be forced once
more down a very dark path in their hunt for the truth.

My Review:

A view weeks ago I read the fortieth book in the In Death
series by J.D. Robb. I loved that book so when I was asked to review ‘Festive in
Death’, the thirty ninth book in the series, I immediately said Yes!! I love
J.D. Robb a.k.a. Nora Roberts writing style and I love that you can read these
books in the series also as standalones. I don’t think I can read too much by
this author.
In ‘Festive in Death’ Lieutenant Eve Dallas has to
investigate the murder of Trey Ziegler, a personal trainer and just a terrible human
being. It’s almost Christmas and all Eve wants to do is tie this murder up as
fast as possible. Unfortunately there are a lot of potential suspects and soon the
case takes a turn which will add more work to the Lieutenant. Between attending
a fabulous Christmas party Eve’s husband Roarke planned and investigating a
murder, this year’s Christmas is definitely going different than planned.
Even though I read the fortieth book in this series first
before I started reading this one I really loved this book. This book is filled
with twists and turns and I loved how descriptive J.D. Robb writes. There is a
lot of details in this book and I could almost imagine myself being a part of
the investigation. I loved how this book goes from moments in the
investigation, to personal moments between Eve and Roarke. It’s just the
perfect mix.
Lieutenant Eve Dallas is an awesome main character. I
love her personality and how she just isn’t really a social person but tries
for her husband. I love her flaws and how she acts with suspects. It’s just so
much fun to read and I couldn’t stop reading.
This book is definitely another great one by J.D. Robb. I
would recommend this series to everyone out there. I even bought my mother in
law the first book in this series because I just knew she would love it!!
