Single mom Heather Ellis would do anything for her adopted daughter, Ava. Even post an online reward for anyone who found the girl’s lost stuffed animal. Who’d have guessed it’d be returned by a drop-dead-sexy man with such sadness in his eyes that she had to reach out to him? To Ava, he’s a hero. To Heather, he’s a fantasy that puts at risk the happy life she’s made for herself. It’s been five years since billionaire developer Sebastian Romano lost his wife and unborn child in a tragic accident. Now he’s all business. No room for emotion. Until he stumbles across that damn stuffed wolf and the beautiful single mother looking for it. Is he ready to give love a second chance? But there’s more to Sebastian, his family, and his past than Heather knows. More than even Sebastian knows. Will the life they’re building together be challenged when the truth is finally revealed?

When I was browsing Amazon my eye fall on the cover of ‘The Broken One’. After reading the book description and seeing the rating on this book, I decided to get my own copy and started reading the same night.

In ‘The Broken One’ we meet single mom Heather. Heather is a strong single mom to her daughter Ava, and she doesn’t have time for a guy, although she wished she had. When Sebastian ends up on her doorstep one nights, she is confused by everything she feels for the guy. Yes, he is extremely handsome but there is also a sadness in his eyes that she wants to take away. But Sebastian has been through a terrible loss years ago, and he lost himself. But Heather might be the one who gets him to come back.

Well, this is a book that left me feeling a bit confused. The romance between Heather and Sebastian was really fun and it made me want to keep on reading because I really wanted to know how there story would end. They both had there issues, but their characters where fun and the connection between them was exciting to read about. I especially loved the way Heather was this hard working single mom. She really was a badass!

But there was a part in this book that I didn’t really get at all. I guess it’s something that will be explained in the other book, but it really confused me and just didn’t really make sense. It was three chapters of a little girl looking to make a family tree or something. I didn’t get why it had to be in this book.

What I also found a little disappointing was how rushed everything was in the end. Heather and Sebastian where slowly getting to know each other, especially after everything they both went through and suddenly in three weeks they end up playing mommy and daddy. I didn’t really get that, and it really didn’t work for me.

Overall, I enjoyed the beginning of the book but the end just didn’t work for me. It was way to rushed and it just felt like the story was about two different characters in the end.
