Prepare to laugh, cry, and fall in love with this enthralling new romance from J. Bengtsson
When a letter from his supposedly deceased mother finds its way into his hands, life changes in an instant for international pop star Bodhi Beckett. Reeling from the deception of those closest to him, Bodhi spirals out of control and is sent to a secluded mansion in the coastal mountains of Southern California for some rest and relaxation. But the retreat proves to be anything but relaxing when a raging wildfire sets the landscape around him ablaze. While escaping the flames, Bodhi rescues Breeze, a quirky, pet-loving woman, and together the two fight their way to safety. In the aftermath of the fire, Bodhi and Breeze hit the road to uncover the truth about his family. What neither of them expected is to forge a powerful connection that will change their lives forever…but can it survive the real world, or will it disappear like the wind?

After reading ‘Ripple Effect’ the other day, I knew I wanted to read more books by J. Bengtsson. So when I saw that there was a book, although another standalone, that could be linked to ‘Ripple Effect’ I knew that book had to be my next read. So I got myself a Kindle version of ‘Like The Wind’ and started reading.

In ‘Like The Wind’ we meet Bodhi Beckett, an international pop star who recently found out his past has been a lie. As a pop start Bodhi’s every move is planned and nothing he does is private. But finding out everything in his past isn’t the way he thought it was, made him want to rebel against his life, and his manager a.k.a. his father. But even that isn’t possible. So when Bodhi’s gets the opportunity to get away for a few days without anyone bothering him, he couldn’t resist. Unfortunately life has something in store for him though, and he soon finds himself in the middle of a raging wildfire. Fighting for his life, he meets Breeze, a hairdresser and pet lover. Breeze is unlike anyone he has ever met and soon they are spending more time together than they thought they would.

After reading a little bit about Bodhi in Ripple Effect, I knew I wanted to read more about his story. Bodhi just really fascinated me from the start. And after reading this book I’m even more fascinated by him. Bodhi’s whole life has been planned by other people, and in this book he finally gets to do things himself. It was both touching and wonderful to read this part, and I loved every moment we got spend at Bodhi’s side.

But my definite favorite character in this read was Breeze. She was such a wonderful, fun, interesting and unique girl. I just loved her right from the start. I loved how Breeze worked for every penny she got. She got burned by a previous relationship, but still believed in love and trusted she would one day find her true love. I just loved her spirit. And the romance between Breeze and Bodhi was so fun. I simple loved them.

What I loved most about ‘Like The Wind’, was that is was romantic but also kept you sitting on the edge of your seat. Definitely like the other books I read by J. Bengtsson. She has a way of writing that just keeps you hooked. And above all it makes me want to read all her books. Why not five stars then? Well, I thought Bodhi’s past was a bit to much. But if that’s all.. I honestly would have given this book a 4.9 if it was an option.
