This has been a pretty intense week for sure. But a good one too. This week I’ve gone back to work after a 6 month maternity leave. And it has definitely been an adjustment. On Monday I had my first workday and I got a very nice welcome back. It was so nice to see all my colleagues again and I definitely enjoyed it. My little girl and baby boy did very well at their sitter, which was a big relieve. On Wednesday and Thursday I had to work again, and the kids went to the daycare for two days in a row. It also went very well but it was intense for them. They have both definitely been very tired, so this weekend we are taking things easy. Also for me.. waking up at 5 a.m. and having to kids ready to go for 6.30 a.m. is not easy. LOL!
Due to getting back to work, and watching the UEFA European Football Championship (it’s a big thing here in the Netherlands) in the evening, I haven’t been able to read as much. But I anticipated that so my reading schedule is still going well. I did receive some great looking new books and got approved for an ARC team I’m really excited about. A pretty good first week back I think.

Awww glad the first week back went well! It sounds like a scary transition, but I’m glad that both you and your kids are settling well into the new routine. Have a great week!
Thank you. It is definitely taking some time to get used too 😀
I am so pleased your return to work went so well, especially with super early start with the kids, and it sounds like you all definitely deserve a chilled weekend! 😊 My week was also crazy busy planning and then doing a camp out on the school field with our pupils! 🏕 Take care, rest up and happy reading in the coming week.
Thank you Jessica
I’ve not read ANYHTHING with all the soccer matches going on.
Hopefully you’re enjoying your time back at work! I love how they made the welcome back sign for you 🙂
HAVE FUN TONIGHT!! Let’s win! Go Oranje!
Well.. Oranje was a bit dissapointing in the end. But here’s to the WK next year 😉
I am so glad that your return to work went well. It is so hard to get out the door on time with two little ones! Nice new reads! I hope that you have a great week!
Thank you Carole
I’m glad to hear going back to work went well! Hopefully you’ll be able to read more when things fall into a comfortable rhythm. I can’t wait to read Survive the Night. So cool it’s set in the 90s. Enjoy your week!
Here’s my Sunday Post post this week. — Diana
Thanks Diana
It sounds to me like you are doing amazing. Don’t forget to give yourself some times just to relax and not do too much. It is a change of pace to go back to work so you may need to take care of you a bit more.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Thank you Anne.
Glad to hear your first week back at work went well. Out of interest sake – the message on your notice board is exactly how we will write in Afrikaans! But mostly, if you speak Dutch very slowly, we will be able to understand you completely. And I think it goes both ways.
Good luck with your upcoming week!
It definitely goes both ways. I had a woman in my pregnancy class when I was pregnant with my daughter and she was from South Afrika. We could definitely understand each other when we talked in our own languages. 😉
So glad your return to work went well. I can’t imagine a 6-month maternity leave. I hope you’re able to find more time to read going forward 🙂
Thank you. The 6 months where amazing. Before my son was born I couldn’t do much though because of the pregnancy related problems I had.. But just being home with my daughter was very nice.
Oh yes many things for you this week! It’s great! Happy reading!
Thank you 😉
I’m so glad your first week back went well! And that the kids adjusted well, too. I hope you’re able to find more reading time this week.
Thank you Tanya
