This week has been another good one. I have been able to take it easy and relax a little, so that’s great. On Tuesday I visited a friend from work with our little girl, which was a lot of fun. Our kids where able to play together and it was nice to get out of the house for a little while.
On Thursday we had an appointment at our midwife to talk about the upcoming birth of our baby boy and what our expectations are etc. It was nice to be able to hear the baby’s heartbeat again.. but talking and thinking about the birth has been a little scary to be honest. LOL!! I’ve already done it all with our baby girl obviously.. but still.. I really hope this baby stays safely inside till at least week 37 (our girl was born with 36 weeks), so I don’t have to stay in the hospital longer than necessary. Especially with COVID-19 and all the restrictions! I’m just going to keep taking it easy as much as possible. I’m now almost 34 weeks pregnant.. so keep your fingers crossed baby boy stays inside for at least three more weeks! 😀
On Friday we visited my girlfriend who we see often. Our little girl loves spending time with her and it was a great morning. In the afternoon my parents came by.
Reading and blogging wise things are still going well. I’ve read ten books this year so far and I just love being able to enjoy reading and blogging again. I also decided to temporarily take a break from my book club, at least until after the baby is born. Since I don’t know when he will be born, and it now only takes a lot of energy to prepare discussion posts etc. I also don’t get a lot of response even though we have 23 members. So that’s a bummer. Maybe after baby boy arrives I’ll be able to make it work more.
COVID wise our country is now on a curfew. This means that everyone must stay inside between 21.00 and 04.30. We are also allowed no more than one visitor aged 13 or older per day. So not a lot of things are changing for us.. other than officially my parents can’t visit together anymore. But I am allowed to visit them with our girl. So.. I’m not really sure what to think or do about that.
BTW.. have you guys watched the inauguration of the US President Biden? I’m secretly blaming the hormones, but boy did I cry!! It was definitely a good day!
I hope you guys are doing well. What have you been reading?

Glad it was such a good week for you, Maureen. And hopefully the baby will continue to stay put for now. 🙂 I definitely shed some tears during the inauguration, too!
Thanks Tanya. The inauguration really was a touching moment!
My fingers are crossed 😉 It’s a weird time to have a baby come into this world, but it’s also a promise of love and happiness (and sleep deprivation, sorry !). We’re on curfew here at 18.00 but we’ll soon be moving to lockdown 3.0 very soon, it seems. I don’t understand the strange logic of the visits either. Have a nice, peaceful week !
Whahaha.. Ow yes I know about the sleep. Luckily with having a baby girl already and being a nurse working nightshifts etc. I know what sleep deprivation is and I normally don’t sleep that much. LOL!
Have a great week!
So happy to hear that you are able to have an enjoyable relaxing time with your little girl – and I must admit to being a bit puzzled at your rules regarding visitors. We cannot visit anyone inside their homes unless they are part of our support bubble. And that’s that. But we don’t have any curfews here in England. I hope the coming week is a peaceful, healthy one, Maureen:)).
Thanks Sarah. Understanding all these different rules is definitely challenging at times. But I just keep reminding myself it’s for a good cause, even if I don’t get it.
Fingers crossed for you and baby boy! Hope he arrives right on time and not a moment before…unless you’re cool with it! 😉
Nice new read! That’s a new to me one but I hope you enjoy it!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
LOL! Thanks Jessica.
I was so happy to watch the inauguration, the poet, and laughing over the Bernie mitten memes. I can’t remember if we have a curfew right now or not. We never go anywhere so I don’t pay attention.
I am thrilled you are getting this time to relax and read. It takes time for things to get going. I’ve been doing a Read-along, Series on Saturday and Thrifty Thursday for years and participation is slow to rise. I hope baby boy does wait to arrive. Stay well!
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Thanks Anne. I sure do hope so too. I don’t want to spend a minute longer in the hospital than I need too.
Yes, it was all beautiful. I loved the poet too.
Happy reading.
I am glad you had such a good week, Maureen! I hope the baby will hold off like you want, but we know they have a mind of their own sometimes. 🙂
Daughter of Secrets looks good! I hope you enjoy it!
I teared up watching the Inauguration too, so you weren’t the only one. Have a great week!
Thanks Wendy. LOL!! Yes, unfortunately we have no control in when the baby boy is coming. But I’ll keep whispering to him to stay put for a little while. Maybe it helps! 😀
Happy reading.
Sounds like a lovely week! I hope baby boy stays put for at least 3 more weeks and that you’re getting plenty of rest. Daughter of Secrets looks good! I love a spooky cover. Have a great week!
Thanks Katherine. It’s definitely a spooky cover. I started reading already, and so far it isn’t really grabbing me.. but hopefully it changes.
Happy reading. 😉
Sending positive vibes to encourage bub to stay put!
Wishing you a great reading week
Thank you Shelleyrae 😉
