This week has definitely flown by. On Monday, I was able to take our little girl to our sitter so I could have a day for myself. Although I always feel kind of guilty when I’m off work, and still take our girl to her sitter or daycare, it was nice to have a day to myself. I spend it blogging and reading, and it was definitely nice.
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday I had visitors from a girlfriend, my aunt and my niece. This definitely made the week fly by, and it was nice to catch up. We also got some nice gifts for our baby girl, and my aunt gave our little girl two new books she has been reading ever since.
On Friday someone came over to make our SMEG oven. It was the same guy who came by before Christmas to have a look, and unfortunately he ordered the wrong thing.. So we will have two wait another 4-5 weeks before our oven will work again. Luckily for me, the oven that has to be made is part of the big oven so I can still bake and cook. But still.. so frustrating.
This weekend we are taking it east at home. Tonight, Saturday, it started snowing and I’m so excited. It probably won’t be there for long but I just love snow. We were able to take our little girl outside for a little bit. It was the first time she really saw snow.. And she loved it. I hope it’s still there in the morning so she can enjoy it some more.
Reading and blogging wise things are still going well. And I hope I’ll be able to go on like this for a little while. It would be nice to have some posts ready for when our baby boy comes.
Next week my husband and I will got back to the midwife to have a look at our baby boy and talk about the birth. It’s definitely coming closer!
I hope you guys are doing well!

It sounds nice to have spent some time with friends and family this past week, Maureen! I only see my family that I live with and people at work these days. However, I went on a long walk with the dogs and a good friend on Friday, and it felt like a vacation 🙂
Have a wonderful week ahead, and happy reading.
Thank you Linda. That’s definitely the good thing about living so close to family, and not having a lot of them. LOL!! We can easily manage to see them, while social distancing too.
I’m glad you’ve been able to go out for a walk. 😉
Happy reading.
Glad you are having some lovely times and getting in a chance to relax before your new son arrives. And it’s good for your little girl to have some time away from you, too. I hope the coming week is a great one and the meeting with the midwife goes smoothly.
Yes, that’s definitely true. Those hormones make me doubt everything though. Sigh..
Have a great week and happy reading.
Sounds like a lovely week, except for the oven! I hope it won’t take too long for it to be fixed. 🤞 Take care and happy reading. 🙂
I sure hope so too. Thank you Jessica.
Happy reading.
How annoying your oven still isn’t fixed, but it sounds like a good week besides that. That’s nice you had some people visit and that your kid got to play in the snow. It’s all gone here this morning already sadly. I hope next week is a good one!
Thank you Lola. It definitely was a good week.
Happy reading.
Taking your girl to the sitter is nothing to feel guilty of, even if I know from experience that’s why moms do 😉 But especially with another baby on the way, you were right to take the opportunity while you still could – and it’s good for the baby ! We had snow yesterday, there’s nothing left today… Enjoy your week 🙂
LOL! So true. Us moms can definitely make things more difficult for ourselves.
The snow here was also gone pretty fast. To bad really!
Happy reading.
having a day for yourself and people coming to visit is a MUST 🙂 take care and enjoy Mau!
So true. Happy reading 😉
Glad to hear you had a nice week resting! That’s got to be a plus when you’ve got another little one on the way! Have to take these moments when you can! Bummer about the oven being messed up. We’ve had our basement torn apart since the second week of November. We’re trying to have structural repair done but the company we hired, despite getting great reviews…turned out to be not so great, and not so organized. It’s up in the air when they plan to return for the next step on what was originally said to be a 1 day project, but in reality should’ve been at least two day, that’s turned into a 2+ month project.
Nice new reads! They’re new to me ones but yay for signed copies! Hope you enjoy them!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
Yikes. That sounds horrible Jessica. I sure hope the company you hired comes through soon and things get done soon.
Have a great week and happy reading.
Sometimes you need a day to yourself. I am glad you were able to enjoy the time alone. My daughter would be envious of your daughter playing in the snow. Me, not to much. LOL I hope the right part was sent for this time for your oven. I can understand your frustration. Enjoy your reading and have a great week, Maureen!
So true. And unfortunately the snow was gone pretty damn fast. But she got to play with it for atleast a little while.
Happy reading 😉
I think your snow may be the heavy snow that came over Scotland earlier on Saturday, we got quite a fall! I love it but only if I don’t have to drive anywhere!
The snow was gone the next morning sadly. It made for a nice distraction from the lockdown.
Happy reading.
I am so happy you are having this time to relax and prepare for the birth. Stay well!

Thanks Anne. It definitely feels good to have this time.
I’m glad you’re enjoying the snow. I hope you have a good week!
You too AJ. Happy Reading 😉
Glad you had a nice week!
Thanks 😉
Don’t feel guilty – especially with baby boy’s arrival getting closer! We all need a day on our own occasionally. We had a teeny tiny bit of snow here and it was fun to look at through the window but I was glad it didn’t stay around very long. Have a great week!
So true. But I still always feel guilty, even if I know it’s good to do at time. Sigh.. Hormones! Lol.
Happy reading.
Oh wow…you are having a baby soon? That is so exciting and I adore snow as well. We have had such a dry year and I just want some.
And look at those new additions to your library, I hope you enjoy them, love those covers.
Yes. Our second baby boy is due on March 9th. But since our girl was born early, we think baby boy will come early too. We’ll see. 33 weeks now 😀
Have a great week and happy reading.
Sounds like a lovely week to me! 🙂
I’m envious of the snow posts… We rarely get snow even when the UK is semi-covered in it… Ah well, there’s still plenty of time! Winter is just beginning.
Hope you have another nice week!
Unfortunately the snow was gone the next day.. so we only saw it for about an hour in daylight.. But still.. It was snow! LOL! I hope you guys get it too 😉
Happy reading.
