Will this brooding Gold Valley cowboy find redemption this Christmas? This Christmas, cowgirl Rose Daniels is determined to play matchmaker to ensure her beloved sister will meet someone under the mistletoe. She enlists the reluctant help of family friend Logan Heath, but his insistence that she doesn’t understand chemistry is exasperating. Until they share one electrifying moment that shows her exactly what chemistry is all about, and it becomes outrageously, irresistibly intriguing… Logan hates the holidays. They are a painful reminder of the family he lost and a time of year he always wants to spend on his own. But Rose refuses to let him. Logan’s worked for years to keep his attraction to her under wraps—she’s his best friend’s youngest sister and she couldn’t be more off-limits. He’s the last cowboy that innocent Rose should ever kiss, but this Christmas, will Logan become the only cowboy she’ll ever want?

Maisey Yates is definitely one of my ‘go to’ authors. I’ve read several of her books over the years, and there hasn’t been one I didn’t enjoy. So I knew when I was looking for Christmas books, and saw ‘The Last Christmas Cowboy’, that this was the one I needed to read. Although this book is part of a series, it’s definitely a standalone. I haven’t read all of the books in this series yet myself, and I haven’t felt like I was missing out.

In ‘The Last Christmas Cowboy’ we meet Rose Daniels and Logan Heath. Rose and Logan grew up together and have been working together for years. Rose is definitely something like a little sister to Logan.. Well unfortunately that’s not true at all. Logan has always been there to look after Rose, just like her big brother Ryder, but the last few years Logan started to notice things about Rose he shouldn’t notice. How beautiful she is for example. But Logan has always been able to ignore any ‘unwanted’ feelings for Rose. That is until they share a moment they both kind forget.

This book was definitely a fun Holiday read for me. I loved reading about Rose and Logan. The moments between these two definitely where very charming and it kept me wanting to read more. I loved the fact that Rose and Logan seemed to be only these co-workers at first, but the farther you come into this book you’ll learn that there is much more between these too than you’d notice at first. They are friends, family and definitely more than that.

Rose’s character was a little frustrating to me at times though. For example the part where she tried to be a matchmaker for her sister. Logan kept telling her it was a bad idea, but she just didn’t want to listen. She also just seemed a little childish at times, if you ask me.

Logan’s character was definitely my favorite. He was kind and hardworking, and yes he did have this Grinch like thing about Christmas, but Rose slowly got him to participate more in the Christmas celebrations.

The chemistry between Rose and Logan was definitely fun to read about. There were some pretty fun steamy moments and I loved how they where not your normal ‘best friends little sister’ types. I would have enjoyed some more Christmassy moments, but overall it was another fun read.

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author Maisey Yates lives in rural Oregon with her three children and her husband, whose chiseled jaw and arresting features continue to make her swoon. She feels the epic trek she takes several times a day from her office to her coffee maker is a true example of her pioneer spirit. In 2009, at the age of twenty-three Maisey sold her first book. Since then it’s been a whirlwind of sexy alpha males and happily ever afters, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. Maisey divides her writing time between dark, passionate category romances set just about everywhere on earth and light sexy contemporary romances set practically in her back yard. She believes that she clearly has the best job in the world.
