Yet another week has flown by. I’m not so tired as last week, which is obviously a good thing. But I can still sleep all day! LOL!! No, seriously.. I’m still pretty tired so I’m taking things slow.
This week I only had to work on Wednesday, and I will be working this weekend. I spend as much time as I could playing with our little girl. I became all nostalgic about how fast she is growing up. She’s almost twenty months year old.. Sigh. She is talking more and more and she is just a lot of fun.
My new cookbook by Joanna Gaines arrived this week. It’s her first one, the second one came out last month I think, and I can’t wait to start making some of these dishes. Also my fan shirt of the ‘From Blood And Ash’ book came in this week. Can you tell I’m excited? LOL!
Quarantine wise things are still the same here. We are to stay at home if possible, only go grocery shopping with one person etc. Schools are starting back up on May 11th, but that’s the only thing for now. Funny really, I went outside on Friday and it was definitely a lot busier outside than I’ve seen it since March. You give them a finger..
I hope you guys are well. What are you all reading?

We’re still under shelter-at-home here too but a LOT of people are out. We went to the store and things are much busier… will be interesting to see how things go. And yes the little ones grow so fast! It’s weird how fast the time seems to fly!!!
stay safe and have a good week!
So true.. It’s definitely weird how time seems to fly by so fast. One moment this Corona pandemic seems to just be starting, when other times I think.. OMG.. It’s been so long.
Stay safe and happy reading.
They really do grow up so fast, don’t they? I still cannot believe mine is 9 already. I hope work is going well for you this weekend, and not too stressful or busy.
Stay safe and well, Maureen! Have a good week.
Nine already? I can’t even imagine. Sigh.. I’m trying to enjoy every moment of this time with her. She is still so little, and big at the same time.
Stay safe and happy reading.
I thought I saw some book with Joanna Gaines on the cover at Walmart last week, but I don’t recall the name. I’m guessing it was a cookbook.
Nice t-shirt!
Thanks. I’m totally in love with this shirt. 😀
Stay safe and happy reading.
I’m glad you’re not as tired. I don’t think I left sleep deprivation until my babies were at least a year, but those little ones keep you busy. That age is so fun! They do grow up fast, but I’ve found every age has it’s pros and cons. 🙂 There are way too many people out and about here too. I only leave when I need to, so it always throws me to see it so busy.
My Weekly Update
It’s definitely a fun age. Weird too.. It feels like just yesterday when she started saying momma. And now she is saying things like ‘Thank you momma’ or ‘sleep tight momma’. So sweet.
Stay safe and happy reading.
The restrictions are a bit lax here too and people are out and about more than usual. I will be more religious in following the social distance and wearing masks. on the coming days.
I hope things are well with you.
Stay safe and happy reading.
Stay safe and I hope that you enjoy your books. Our restrictions are a bit tougher and starting Wednesday we have to wear face masks.
Thanks Cindy. You too.
Happy reading.
It’s that age where everything starts to change so fast – my granddaughter will be two at the end of June and I haven’t seen her since mid-March… I’m conscious that I’m missing so much of her development. I am glad you are appreciating your daughter, so. It was one of the happiest times of my life when my two were little – I loved being with them so much… I am not surprised you have been exhausted, Maureen – love the T-shirt and have a good weekend.
I know my mom totally agrees with you. She is so sad she’s missing out on my little girl. So I’m trying to make as many pictures and videos as I possible can. It’s not the same as holding her grandchild, but this way she atleast can see her.
Stay safe and happy reading.
I understand what you mean about your daughter. My son turned 9 in March and I almost had a panic attack. I keep thinking about all the things he used to do when he was little and feeling all choked up that all those little things are now gone… But that’s life, I guess! Kids grow and change and I think as parents we’ll always feel that bite of nostalgia for the past even as we feel excited for them continuing to evolve.
Love your t-shirt! Hope you have a good week!
You’re probably right. It’s part of being a mom. But it feels both sad and exciting at the same time. Sigh..
Stay safe and happy reading.
I remember taking my daughter to Disney land at 19 mos. She was so cute. She was just starting sentences. All of them I want xxxx. But we were shocked to hear her say elephant when she saw a sculpture of one. She had such a nice nap in the Hall of Presidents. lol
Some great reviews this week. I am loving the Endeavor series by Amanda Bouchet and I love Carolyn Crane (Annika Martin) She lives in MN where I used to live. So I’ve read her stuff for a long time.
Take care, be kind and sensible!
Anne – Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
That’s so fun. I can’t wait to take our girl to Disney, or any place in another country really. It will be exciting showing her new things.
I’m definitely loving the Endeavor series too.
Stay safe and happy reading.
Maureen, I was in work one day this week again and I sympathise I could sleep up day too! I am currently reading the classic The Professor by Charlotte Brontë and a history The Favourite by Ophelia Field. I hope you enjoy your new cookbook – I tried out three new recipes this week and they were all delicious!
Sounds like your reading some great ones. I’m trying the first new recipe tomorrow.. I hope they’re as good as they sound.
Stay safe and happy reading.
Kids definitely grow up way fast! I’m glad you’re able to enjoy the time you spend with your little one.
I’m also glad you’re able to sleep when your body tells you it’s important to do so 🙂
Schools open again on May 11th here, too, and I kind of don’t want to go. I wish I could continue to teach online until the summer holiday.
Have a wonderful week ahead, stay safe and healthy.
I can see why you’re reluctant to start school again this Monday. These are challenging times for sure. I hope things go well for you Linda.
Stay safe and happy reading.
Yes, it has been a little busier here as well, but it’s not that bad. I guess many people need their fresh air, just like I do. I honestly never felt unsafe being outside at all, I fell uncomfortable keeping the distance as I find it hard to estimate properly.
I think there are more people like you that don’t feel that unsafe. But work one day in a hospital or other health care facility and you’ll see things are pretty damn bad.
Stay safe and happy reading.
My county/city is still on stay-at-home orders though our state is opening up tomorrow. Not sure when we’ll open up. I miss going to my favorite stores that I frequented on a bi-weekly basis. Lol. I get the need to stay at home, so it’s not a big deal and I’m not spending as much money as I might have been! Lol. Online shopping is easier for some, but for me I always prefer buying in store so I can look things over and try it out before purchasing. As it is, I’ve a big stack of returns I need to make when things do open up!
The shirt is so cool! I still need to read that one! Not sure when I will get to it as I’m realllllly enjoying reading some of the books that have been in my TBR for ages! I can see myself breaking for this one in a few months though! Lol!
Hope you enjoy all the lovely new reads!! Stay safe!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
You really should read it way sooner. LOL!!! No, get to it when you do.. But it’s really really good.
Online shopping is definitely not my thing either. Books aren’t a problem at all, but clothes are terrible..
Stay safe and happy reading.
Fun t-shirt :-). Have a good week.
Thank you. I love it!
Stay safe and happy reading.
I know how you feel, my daughter just had a birthday, then my boys have their’s in the summer. With being at home, and time already flying by, it really feels like it’s here way too quickly. As for school, we haven’t heard anything about a re-opening. More than likely, they won’t be. It’s a waiting game right now. For now, keeping family safe indoors… well, trying our best.
It’s strange to hear how different all countries are doing this social distancing thing. I hope we get to travel again soon.. But I don’t think it will happen for a long time to be honest.
Stay safe and happy reading.
Very few people are wearing masks around here, and it makes me nervous when I have to go to the grocery store. People just aren’t taking it seriously, and I can’t fathom why. Especially the ones claiming it’s all a hoax.
I hope you and yours are doing well!
Lindsi @ Do You Dog-ear?😷 💬
I hear you! It’s definitely frustating to see how people just don’t seem to get how dangerous Corona is. I wish I could show them how terrible people are doing with this virus at times. I just dont think people get it at all!
Stay safe and happy reading.
