It’s been a while since I listened to an audiobook. I love audiobooks, but I just rarely find the time to listen to them. Between being with my little girl, working and blogging.. I just haven’t really found the best time to listen to audiobooks. But when I saw the opportunity to listen to ‘Her Tempting Protector’, I knew I wanted to give it a try again. It took me longer than I wanted, but I found the time and start listening.
‘Her Tempting Protector’ is the story of doctor Carys Adams. Carys is working in the wilds of Africa when things go wrong pretty fast. Things aren’t save for the doctor anymore. But Carys is determined to help her patient, a young mother who just gave birth to a baby boy. Soon Navy SEAL Cullen Lyons arrives to get Carys and help her back to safety. But when Cullen sees how determined Carys is to help the young mother, he tries to get them both to safety. And soon Cullen finds himself feeling more for Carys than he did for a woman before.
I’m definitely a fan of Romantic Suspense novels, and although this is the second book in a series, it can be read as a standalone. ‘Her Tempting Protector’ is definitely a story that starts right away. There’s no slow introduction at all. And I definitely enjoyed that, but it also took me a little while to really get into. Right from the beginning this story is filled with lots of suspenseful moments, that keep you sitting on the edge of your feet. And I loved that.
The two main characters Carys and Cullen are definitely fun to get to know. As a nurse myself, I loved getting to know Doctor Carys. And Cullen really seems charming, handsome and very kind. There where moment where I found him too much though. He was charming, but he was to fond of the doctor to fast is you ask me. And I just found what he said and thought a little to much at times. Sure I believe in love at first sight. But I didn’t feel it here as much in the beginning.
The romance between Carys and Cullen was definitely sweet though. Even if I found it too much at times. And I loved them together.
Since this was my first audiobook in a while, I was a little anxious about the narrators. But I shouldn’t have worried. I loved both Ryan West and Kirsten Leigh. Their voices where nice to listen too, and I could really hear the characters emotions in their voices. The story flowed easily from one narrator to the other, and it was definitely fun to listen too.
Overall I’d definitely recommend this audiobook. There was some very nice suspense and cute romance.
I received an Audible code of this audiobook from Caffeinated PR in exchange for my honest review.
