Conway Danvers. Heartbreaker. Rockstar. My childhood best friend’s older brother. The lead singer of the Sovereign Kings. And he just propositioned me. He doesn’t remember me.
Conway’s just a player with a reputation. He is the first boy I ever had a crush on. Now, millions of people around the world are obsessed with his band. We’re nothing alike. I prefer the shadows and he prefers the spotlight.

Conway looks at me like he wants to make good on his promises. I don’t want the legend. I want the man underneath. I want to let him be my undoing. Every verbal spar is the foreplay we shouldn’t partake in. Every touch pulls me deeper under his spell. Every kiss becomes an addiction.

Even though we know we shouldn’t, we can’t help but fall. I never expected Conway to be the one to push me outside my comfort zone. I never expected him to be the one to fight for me. The spotlight burns bright. But Conway Danvers burns brighter.

After reading ‘Forgive or Forget Me’ by Ann Einerson in May, I knew this was an author I wanted to read more off. So when I got the opportunity to read ‘The Spotlight’ I was super excited. Especially when I read the book description, and read that this would be the first book in a series surrounding rock band members. I always love those kind of stories. So when I received the ARC, I dived right in.

In ‘The Spotlight’ we read the story of Sienna and Conway. Conway is the lead singer of the famous rock band Sovereign Kings and he is used to getting his way. That is until he meets Sienna. There is an instant chemistry between Sienna and Conway, but Sienna isn’t interested in more from the arrogant singer. Especially since he didn’t even recognize her being his sisters childhood best friend.

But Conway is determined to get closer to Sienna. And soon they become closer and end up as friends. But there is a lot of chemistry between them and soon it is hard to stay only friends. But Conway and Sienna both want different things out of life. And when their lives get even more complicated when the paparazzi gets involved, things seem to be doomed before they even started.

‘The Spotlight’ was a book that grabbed my attention right from the start. We get to read this story through both Conway and Sienna’s point of view and I loved reading how different they where. The chemistry between them was right from the start amazing. And I found myself unable to stop reading. I loved reading about band life and how Conway and his band members interacted with each other.

But the best part was definitely the slow-burn romance between Conway and Sienna. I was rooting for them right from the start. I honestly got butterflies while reading their story and although I couldn’t see how things would ever end up right.. I kept hoping and reading. I loved both characters so much. Yes, Conway at first seemed like this very arrogant playboy. But Sienna changed him from the moment they met.

Ann Einerson did a great job with this book. Not only did I devour every page, but I also got really interested in Conway’s other band mates. I can’t wait to read more books in this series and I really recommend this book if you are into romance.
