Gold Valley’s wildest cowboy has finally met his match… Jamie Dodge is confident she knows everything there is to know about cowboys. She grew up surrounded by them, after all. But somehow her new boss, champion saddle bronc rider Gabe Dalton, and his brand of cowboy charm have her interested in all kinds of things she never has been before. There are a million reasons Gabe should ignore his attraction to Jamie. He needs her horse-training skills on his family’s ranch…and the Dodge brothers would happily hurt him for touching her. Forget kissing her. He’d be a dead man. But Jamie’s tough-talking attitude masks an innocence that tempts him past the breaking point…and soothes the restlessness that’s dogged Gabe his whole life. Has this cowboy finally found a place he wants to call home?

Maisey Yates is one of my favorite authors. For the last view years I’ve read as many of her books as I could. So when I was looking for something to read while I was right in the middle of a move, I knew the latest book by Maisey Yates was perfect. Her books are always so fun, romantic and sexy and they always make me feel better. Like I said, perfect to read while I’m super busy and stressed.

‘Cowboy to the Core’ is the sixth book in the Gold Valley series but can be read as a standalone. In this book we meet Jamie Dodge. Jamie grew up with her dad and older brothers. She grew up as one of the guys and never had much time for nonsense like love or makeup. But when Jamie takes a job on Gabe Dalton’s ranch, she soon finds herself feeling things and doing things she never thought she wanted.

This book definitely didn’t disappoint. I was looking forward to reading Jamie’s story for a while, and now it was finally time to read it I was just so excited. I loved Jamie and Gabe. And what I loved most was the fact that they both where these tough people, at least to the outside world, but with each other they were so much more. There connection was just so fun to read about and I loved them.

Yes, the first moment they were really ‘together’ was not as perfect as I would have hoped. It just felt a little off to me. But the rest of the book really made up for that. The chemistry between Jamie and Gabe was flying of the pages, and I loved seeing hints of possible new main characters.

‘Cowboy to the Core’ was the perfect distraction to a very stressful move and I looked forward to those view stolen moments where I could read. I for one am really looking forward to the next book by Maisey Yates.
