I’m so glad this week is over. After weeks of feeling not very good, good and not very good again I ended up feeling horrible the week. And on Tuesday I spiked a fever. I had some headaches, throat pains for days but now I was shivering one moment, and really hot the next. Obviously, me being me, I ended up taking my baby girl to her sitter and went to work. But when I arrived there I was asking myself what the hell I was doing there.. I felt so bad. After answering some emails I went home and slept all day. And when I woke up in the afternoon I had a fever. I’m almost never sick, and this year I got myself a flu shot for the first time.. and BAM.. I’m down with the flu. Sigh..
Of course being a mom never stops, so I had to get out of bed and take care of our little girl. But luckily my grandmother was able to come over and help me take care of our girl. Which was pretty nice since I was feeling so bad. On Wednesday afternoon, even though she was playing and doing goofy our little girl spiked a fever too. And this is how are week has gone by! I had to stay home from work obviously, took care of my sick baby and slept when she slept. Since Friday afternoon I’ve been feeling slightly better. I even ended up reading on Friday evening, which I haven’t been able to do since last Sunday.
And now it’s Saturday evening, and I even managed to grab my laptop to do some blogging. This is also the first time in over a week I managed to grab it. Thank god for planning ahead, otherwise my blog would have been completely empty this week. I still don’t feel as good as I’d hoped.. but I’m slowly getting there. Baby girl is doing pretty good too. I wish I could do the things she does while having a fever. LOL!
I sure hope your week has been better. What have you guys been up to? What did you read?

Aww sorry to hear it was a rough week! Glad you guys are doing better though. Being sick is no fun, especially when the little one gets it as well.
Hope your new week is a good one! I’ve heard Virgin River on Netflix was pretty good.
Thanks Greg. It sure wasn’t a fun week.
I watched Virgin River on Netflix and loved that show. I bought this book as a little gift for me.
Happy reading. 😉
Hallo, Hallo Maureen,
I can definitely feel your angst – I was horridly ill myself this past week & the week prior, too! I was struck down by a severe Winter cold and it was so kind to anchour a severe migraine along with it! Between my throat & ears I was beyond miserable – so you definitely have my full sympathies!
I’ve read a previous release by Janna MacGregor – in fact, I had the chance to read this one myself but for whichever reason I just wasn’t feeling the plot for it and I took a pass. I was going to read the Virgin River series LONG ago – so long ago it wasn’t even optioned yet to release on NetFlix; though somewhere between buying the first novel and now, my appeal to read the series waned. Maybe that will resolve itself in future but for now I’ve gone on to other authors and their series.
This week despite feeling like February was ending on a sombering note, I discovered that I had quite a good week despite the appearances of it being a washout! I had a lot of good fun sharing my #unboxing of a surprise win for a Middle Grade Fantasy novel, the further adventures of being a #bookclubVIP ambassador for a book box subscription & happily resumed sharing my book photos whilst talking about how I was able to showcase two Historical Fantasy novelists who truly gave me something to think about this week!! Overall, not as bad as I had thought?! I think sometimes our perspective can get skewed when our health is in the tank!
You have a lovely blog and I’ll be taking a nosey round today exploring your posts!
You can visit with me and see what I happily disclosed during my Sunday Post.
Sorry to hear you’ve been sick too. I’m glad you’re feeling better. Thankfully I’m also feeling much better.
I watched the Virgin River series myself and loved it! So I bought this book as a little gift. I can’t wait to read it. Maybe you’ll get to it too someday. 😉
Thanks for stopping by Jorie. I’ll visit your blog too.
I’m sorry to hear you were so sick. My daughter felt bad also but more headaches and vertigo. I was more scratchy throat but never felt sick. I hope this week is MUCH better! Happy healthy, reading!
Anne – Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
Thanks Anne. I’m glad you haven’t felt sick.
Here’s to a much better week. 😉 Happy reading.
Maureen, I am so sorry to hear you and your little girl have been so poorly – I really hope you’ll both better soon! 💜
Thanks Jessica. Luckily we’ve been feeling much better since Saturday. We even managed to go away from home for a little while. So that’s a huge improvement.
Have a great week and happy reading.
Sorry you’ve had a tough week! Glad to hear you and baby girl are on the mend, though. Hopefully, this week will find you more productive and able to get out and about. Have a great week!
Thanks Tiffany. Luckily we’ve been feeling much better this week.
Have a great week and happy reading.
I love being a mom but I hate being a mom when I’m sick. My kids always quote Daniel Tiger and sing that “rest is best” when you’re sick, but unfortunately someone still has to feed them, get them on the bus, clean the house, and help with problems. Hope you’re feeling better!
I keep seeing Virgin River on Netflix and think I should pick up the book to read … I always love reading a book before watching a show. If only I could stop being addicted to Outlander right now … lol
So true. It was definitely challenging being sick this time as a mom. I almost never sick so this was the first time I faced this. Mom’s are tough!! LOL! 😀
Virgin River is really good. I just recently finished it, but I loved it. It’s just a very relaxing series to watch.
Have a great week and happy reading.
I’m so sorry to hear you and your little one have been sick. I suspect the reason you’re not back 100% is because you haven’t been getting as much rest as you needed because you were taking care of her! That’s the way it always seems to go. Have a great week!
Thanks Katherine. And that definitely might be the problem. But luckily we both have been feeling much better this week.
Have a great week and happy reading.
I hope you are feeling better…being sick is the worst, especially when you have a child…and a job.
Enjoy the new week. I am eyeing Hideaway.
Thanks for visiting my blog.
True. It really was terrible. Luckily this week has been much better.
Have a great week and happy reading.
I’m so sorry you caught the flu. It’s bad this year. I missed three days of work and that never happens. I hope you feel all better soon:)
Yes, it’s definitely a bad one. And this year I got myself the flu shot for the first time. Sigh..
Have a great week and happy reading.
I’m so sorry to hear you and your baby girl got sick. I hope you feel a lot better soon.
Happy readings!
Thanks Tania. We both sure feel much better this week.
Have a great week and happy reading.
Oh no! I hope you’re feeling better soon! I caught a nasty flu a couple weeks ago. It wiped me out for a whole week!
Thanks Erica. Luckily I’ve been feeling much better. 😉
