This week has been one of those that flew by and I have no idea what I’ve done. I only had to work Wednesday and Friday. On Thursday my grandma came to visit and we went to the zoo. It was busy but very fun. And for lunch my grandma treated us on pancakes. So cute to see my little girl enjoying a pancake.
On Friday after work I went with my coworkers to this goodbye party for some of the doctors we worked with this last year. I hadn’t planned on going, since I was feeling all insecure and old (yeah I know stupid) and like no one would want me there. But in the end my coworkers convinced me to come and it was lots of fun. We danced and laughed a lot. And I even saw one of my girlfriends there I hadn’t seen in a while. Of course I’m doubting myself again now.. Did people think I was weird? Why do I think this? I have no clue. But I’m trying to shut that voice up as fast as possible. I’m trying to work on this confidence thing.
It was a very fun evening and I was home around 00.45 a.m. Not to bad I think. But mom life never stops, and I had very little sleep. But it was all worth it.
This weekend we don’t have a lot of stuff planned. I hope to be able to do some reading and catch up on my emails.

Hope you have a great weekend! And yay pancakes haha. I never get sick of pancakes. 🙂
I have weeks like that too. I look back and try to summarize the week, and draw a blank haha. Oh well! Have a good week ahead!
Thank you Greg. So far so good! 😉
Happy reading!
I’m glad you had a great night out! If I haven’t been out in a while I always feel a bit of a hesitation joining in on outings again. It looks like you’ve got some great reading done this week as well and it’s lovely to find another Dutch book blogger! I hope you’re enjoying a lovely weekend and have a great week coming up! Do pop by my round-up post if you have the time 🙂 Juli @ A Universe in Words
It’s good to hear I’m not alone in feeling like this. I always feel so awkward to admit it.. Especially since I’m a nurse and am supposed to be good with people. LOL!!
How nice to meet a fellow Dutchie!! I’ll check out your blog soon. 😉
Happy reading.
I am glad your friends convinced you to go and you did! Sometimes losing a bit of sleep is good right? Have a good one ahead.
LOL! So true.. I’ll sleep when I’m dead right?
Have a great week and happy reading.
Glad you had a chance to go and have a some fun. I know anxiety is hard – but just think… did you come home and spend time wondering how weird your co-workers were? Chances are, if you didn’t, neither did they… Here’s hoping you have a lovely week, Maureen.
That’s a very good point.. I haven’t thought about it like that. Thank SJ. 😀
Have a great week and happy reading.
You’re not alone, I do that too with nights out and trying to shut the voice in the head up is hard. I’m glad you went and had a good time though.
Pancakes rock!
Here’s to another good week!
Thanks Nicci. It’s good to hear I’m not the only one feeling like this.
Have a great week and happy reading.
It’s nice to get some time out and about, but I’d probably be anxious as well! The mom life has its struggles. Pancake dates sounds like a lot of fun though!
Have a great week and happy reading!
Mom life can definitely be kind of crazy. But it’s all worth it! 😀
Have a great week and happy reading.
I’m so glad you got out and had some fun! I know it’s hard. Most of the time I’d rather stay home and do my own stuff. Mostly reading or projects. I love the zoo and pancakes! I enjoyed Whiteout; I hope you did too.
Have a great week and happy reading!
Anne – Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
Whiteout was amazing. I loved that book! I’m glad you liked that one too.
And it’s so good to hear so many people feel the same. I always feel like I’m just a little strange that way.
Happy reading!
It sounds to me like you had a wonderful time with family and friends.
Wishing you a great reading week
I sure did.
Have a great week and happy reading,
It seems you had so much fun. 🙂 Pancakes are so yummy.
Happy readings!
Tânia @MyLovelySecret
I sure had a lot of fun. I can’t stop talking about it even now. LOL!
Have a great week and happy reading.
It sounds like you had a nice visit with your grandmother. I am glad you had a good time at the party. I am very self-conscious myself, and so I can somewhat relate. I am glad your friends were able to talk you into going. 🙂 I hope you enjoy your new books! I am considering a romance next . . . Have a great week, Maureen!
Thanks Wendy. I’m so glad I went to that party. I haven’t regret it for even one second.
I hope your romance read is good.
Have a great week and happy reading.
I overthink so many situations… I recently started going to therapy and my therapist has been giving me assignments. My assignments for this week were to “Give myself permission to not be perfect” and to review a cognitive dissonance sheet and identify the ways of thinking that my anxiety makes me do. It’s SO interesting! She said that step one is remembering the different ways this can happen. Step two is to call it out when it happens. Then step three is to work on stopping that mode of thinking. Of course, all much easier said than done, but I love learning more about it! 🙂 Wishing you a very happy week!
Thank you for sharing that with me. Life can be hard at times.. and we are our own worst enemy. It sounds like therapy is going good for you.
Have a great week and happy reading!
