beginning…

A fresh start. That’s exactly what Ally Shaw needs and what she’s found in
Glacier Ridge, Montana. Creating a simpler life with her young son and
reconnecting with her only remaining family-it’s all part of Ally’s plan to
chase away the pain of her past. But when a dangerously irresistible cowboy
rescues her little boy, Ally can’t deny she’s excited about what else the
future might bring.

Reed Malloy was a wild horse who wouldn’t be broken. Devoted to his work on the
land at the expense of everything else, he’d never met a woman who could hold
his interest… until Ally. And now, beautiful Ally and her fearless, freckled
child have this cowboy wanting more. This isn’t Ally’s first time at the rodeo,
though, and convincing her to trust him isn’t easy. But there isn’t anything he
won’t do to keep her safe… and make her his.

My Review:

I love a
good Romantic Cowboy story every once in a while. So when I saw ‘Reed’ at Netgalley
last year, I requested to read this one immediately. But life got in the way,
and somehow I lost track of this book. But since I’m cleaning out my Netgalley
list, it was time to read this book. Although ‘Reed’ is the third book in the
Malloys of Montana series, it can be read as a standalone.

In ‘Reed’
we meet Ally Shaw and Reed Malloy. Ally is a young mom of a boy of four, and
she just moved her whole life to Glacier Ridge, Montana to get a shot at a new
life. Ally starts her own shop, and before she knows it.. the store is a big success.
And when Ally meets the handsome cowboy Reed, who seems to want to help her get
settled in her new life. Everything seems to be going great. And soon the
chemistry between Ally and Reed is getting more and more intense. But Ally isn’t
good in trusting people. And Reed has to work hard to get the woman he wants.

‘Reed’ is
a nice and easy to follow romance read. The word sweet definitely comes to my
mind when I think of this book. I loved all those characters from the town of Glacier
Ridge, it definitely had this small-town feel about it and that is something I
definitely enjoyed. There were several moments in this book were we met the Malloy
family, and I also just loved that family. They were big, and noisy and they
just seemed like a great family.

The
romance between Reed and Ally was not really what I expected. I didn’t really
feel their chemistry, and I found Reed to be a little to ‘to-the-point’. But
Ally, was a fun character and the Malloy family was really nice, so that
definitely made up for the not-feeling-the-chemistry- part.

I also
found this book a little too predictable for my taste. But it was a fun read
that really made for a fun afternoon read.

Times bestselling author R.C. Ryan has written more than ninety fiction novels,

follow her dream to become a writer.

The Lost, an anthology of stories by J.D. Robb, Mary Blayney, Patricia Gaffney,
and R.C. Ryan writing as Ruth Ryan Langan was published in Fall 2009. Ms.
Ryan’s story, “The Legacy,” is an exciting tale of intrigue and other-worldly
adventure.

been quoted in such diverse publications as the Wall Street Journal and
