When
nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like
creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical
land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not
an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their
world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy
hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she’s
been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient,
wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it
. . . or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

My Review:

I’ve been
wanting to read a book by Sarah J. Maas for a very long time. I’ve heard so
many great things about her novels. But somehow I just haven’t been able too. I
bought ‘A Court of Thorns and Roses’ a view months back, and although this book
has been on top of my TBR for a while, I only now was able to start reading it.
And boy how stupid was I to have waited so long for this read.
In ‘A
Court of Thorns and Roses’ we meet huntress Feyre. Feyre is a huntress so she
can get food for her father and two sisters. Her life is hard, and her family
isn’t very good to her. But still, Feyre feels responsible and so she hunts.
One day she kills a wolf for its fur. And soon a beastlike creature comes to
take her away as retribution. Soon Feyre, finds out this beastlike creature is
Tamlin one of the lethal, immortal faeries. Although they are supposed to hate
each other, soon something starts to change between them.
I can’t
even tell you guys how much I loved this book. I was having a little reading
slump and this book really was what I needed. From the moment I started reading
I loved the world setting. I love stories about faeries and this one was just
amazing.
The
characters were fun to get to know, and there never was a boring part in this
book.
The main
character Feyre was a tough one, and I loved getting to know her. She was
really strong and even though her family didn’t really seem to appreciate her,
she took care of them. I just loved her.
Tamlin
took some getting used to. But he was so mysterious that I just couldn’t stop
reading about him. I figured there was more to his character than we got to
see, and I loved finding out more about him.
This book
was filled with mystery and action, but there was also some amazing romance
going on. And I loved the other characters in this book too. Tamlin’s friend,
and the people in Tamlin’s household. What a great book!
I’m a big
Beauty and the Beast lover, and this book kind of had a Beauty and the Beast
feeling about it. I loved every single page of this book and I can’t wait to
read the next one in the series.

Glass series, as well as the A Court of Thorns and Roses series.

Sarah lives in Bucks County, PA, and over the years, she has developed an
unhealthy appreciation for Disney movies and bad pop music. She adores fairy
tales and ballet, drinks too much tea, and watches an ungodly amount of TV.

beautiful Pennsylvania countryside with her husband and canine companion.
