And yet another week has passed by and we are on our way
to the end of April. Time is going by faster and faster. But this week that was
definitely not a bad thing for me because I really was in need of the weekend.
On Monday morning I finished my nightshifts and I was feeling super tired. To
make sure I would get back into my normal rhythm, I slept till one p.m. (so
that’s only 3 1/2 hours) and on 2 p.m. I had an appointment at the dentist. So I was really sleepy, and at the dentist they had to give me some local anesthesia
that numbed the right halve of my face for almost 7 hours.. So when I went to
see ‘Jungle Book’ with my movie buddy at 4 p.m. I looked like a total freak. Tired and half my face wasn’t working properly. I
made a lot of people laugh.. LOL!!

Wednesday and Thursday I had to work again. And on Friday
I went with my mom and aunt to ‘s HertogenBosch, a city here in The Netherlands
with many nice shops, beautiful churches and other gorgeous buildings. We spend the day
shopping, visiting a beautiful church and we had their specialty called the ‘Bossche
Bol’ (see picture). It’s this very tasty chocolate covered pastry filled with
whipped cream. Very bad for you, but very very tasty. We had a lovely day, especially
when my cousin also joint us for the last couple of hours.

At night my boyfriend and I went out to dinner. Not for
any particular reason than that we really wanted to. What a great day!

This weekend is a slow one. I don’t have to work so I’m
going to read, blog and spend some quality time at home with my man. So far it’s
been pretty damn good since I seem to be on this winning spree. Friday I won an
eBook of ‘Summer Hiatus’ by S.J. Pajonas through a Giveaway hosted by Trish at
Between My Lines book blog. And Saturday I won the Boost It Tuesday Giveaway
hosted by Every Free Chance Books. So it’s definitely a good weekend for me. 😉

Glad to hear The Jungle Book was good, I want to see that. And hope it's a great reading/ blogging weekend . 🙂 Congrats on the giveaway wins!!
You definitely should. The movie is done in such a beautiful and impressive way. I was definitely in awe after seeing it.
Thanks for stopping by! 😉
Well done on the wins, sounds like it was a relaxing and fun week for you. And that quite is spot on! Have a good week Maureen!
Thanks Trish. Have a great week and happy reading! 😉
Yay for giveaway wins!!! Have a great week!
Thank you. Happy reading 😉
It sounds so hard to work night shifts sometimes, and day shifts others, Maureen. I am always in awe of nurses! You do such an important job.
Your week does sound like it was good, though, and congrats on the bookish wins.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

It's definitely not easy at times. Especially since I'm feeling really tired lately and working different shifts isn't really good for resting up. But it will get better eventually. 😉
Thanks for stopping by and happy reading!
Oh, that chocolate looks so delicious! We have to enjoy the things that are "bad for us" now and then. Thanks for sharing…enjoy your new books, and thanks for visiting my blog.
We definitely do. And they are soooo tasty!! Sigh..
Thanks for stopping by 😉
I know just what a struggle working shifts are… my husband is a train driver and they switch between late and early shifts every week. During his long break, he sometimes sleeps 12-15 hours straight just to try and catch up. Lucky you getting a chance to see the latest Jungle Book – it looks fabulous and I love what they've done with the music. Have a great week:)
I can definitely see why your husband sometimes sleeps 12-15 hours. Sometimes I really wish I could sleep that long too. I can sleep anywhere and at any time, but not very long. LOL!
Jungle Book was really beautiful!! I can't wait to see it again!
It does sound like a wonderful weekend!! *happy dance* for the wins. 🙂 Mmmmm…I love chocolate especially in a pastry with whipped cream. lol With hubby's recent diabetes diagnosis we have to be more picky about the treats we allow ourselves now and when he can have them. That sounds like one we'd plan for. Nom nom nom! I hope you have a fantastic week!
Ow it really is very tasty. But after I ate it, I swear I felt like I gained a lot of pounds. LOL!!
Happy Reading! 😉
The House in Quill Court looks good. I am drooling over the Bossche Bol. I hope the week ahead treats you good!
It look great doesn't it. I can't wait to read it.
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Reading 😉
Sounds like you had some great things happen this week! The chocolate thing looks delicious, and that must've been a really fun day. And slow weekends can be the best kind when you just need some downtime to relax. And congrats on the wins! I've had that happen too. It seems like you always win a bunch of stuff all at once and then you don't win anything at all for a while lol.
I totally agree. I haven't won anything in ages.. and now I win two books in two days. Wish it could happen more regularly! 😀
Have a great week and happy reading!
I hate those local anesthesia at the dentist, it always takes so long for your face to feel normal again. I am glad to hear the movie was good!
‘s HertogenBosch is a fun city to visit and the Bossche Bollen are so good! Especially when you eat them fresh from a café there. Oh now I want one of those. It sure sounds like you had a great day there!
It's always nice to win things. And I hope you enjoy Summer Haikus, I love that book! Looking forward to hear your thoughts! I hope you'll have a great week!
Thanks Lola. I can't wait to start in Summer Haikus, it sounds like a great read.
The Bossche Bollen in 's HertogenBosch definitely taste the best. I also like the ones they sell at the Albert Hein, but this one was still much better.
Thanks for visiting! 😉
My son insists we go see The Jungle Book. Glad to hear you enjoyed it, even with a frozen face. LOL That dessert looks so yummy, as do your new books:)
My Sunday Post
I really was a great movie. Even after seeing the old movies, this one still kept me on the edge of my seat. And the frozen face made it even more fun because I looked so freaky! LOL
Thanks for stopping by 😉
I really admire your job Maureen! nightshifts are not easy!
Yup nothing like post-dentist face to make people laugh.. LOL!!
I'm glad you enjoy Jungle Book despite being tired and under the effects 😉
LOL!! I definitely also made myself laugh. What a face!! LOL!!
If you haven't seen it yet, you really should go see Jungle Book soon. It's beautiful!! 😉
The House in Quill Court looks lovely. I love historicals. I haven't had dentistry work done in a while, but I think we all remember what it's like. Lol! I have heard that The Jungle Book is really good. We need to go see it.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

You definitely should go see Jungle Book. I loved it!!
I can't wait to start in 'The House in Quill Court'. Historical Romances are definitely my thing. 😀
