This last week has flown by without giving me much to tell you. I worked three days, I went to the dentist again and went to a hairdresser to get a haircut for the first time in almost a year. It was necessary and I’m happy I went. But as usual I already think my hair isn’t looking all that good anymore. It’s the story of my life really. I almost never go to the hairdresser, but when I really need too I go and in the end I think my hair looks terrible or pretty good.. for a day or something. Sigh..
We got a new desk for my ‘library’ so I can blog there too. We put up our old dinner table last week, but now we have a real desk which is a little smaller but fits much better. I love it!!We also got some new lamps. We now only need to get lamps for the upstairs bathroom, the hallway and a part of the attic. I don’t know about you guys.. but picking out lamps is just horrible. It’s so hard to do!
Tomorrow the clock will go back to the winter time here. I’m a little worried about how our baby girl will manage. I think I’ll have to prepare myself for a very early wakeup call tomorrow morning.

It sounds like your work area is shaping up nicely. So much fun!
I always hated the time change when I had babies. My babies did not do well when the time changed. It took a long time to get them back on a schedule.
Have a great week!
Yikes, I sure hope our baby girl will adjust soon to the new time. So far so good.. but it’s only been one day!
Thanks for stopping by and happy reading!
I haven’t been to a hairdresser for over a decade. I have thick curly hair that honestly grows an inch or so a month, so whenever it starts to annoy me I just cut a few inches off myself. Luckily it’s very forgiving, and if I make a mistake it grows out within weeks anyway.
Wishing you a great reading week.
Well, I definitely aren’t brave enough to cut my own hair. So every once in a while I have to get myself to the hairdresser. It isn’t looking to bad..
Happy reading!
I love that you are getting settled in your library. I have some things to do yet. I have some old floor lamps which I like and the rooms almost all have some overhead lighting. It is a problem to pick lamps. I either scrounge for old stuff at secondhand shops or very new stuff at Walmart or Target. Take your time and find what you want. Good luck this week with the time change. Everyone struggles a bit for a few weeks. I hope you have a great week and happy reading!
Anne – Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
We are definitely taking our time with the lamps. But in the library I just really wanted to get one.. the bulb that was hanging there was just so bright. It hurt my eyes. LOL!
Have a great week and happy reading!
I think it’s great you’re building a little library/office for yourself. My Husbeast and I have our own office spaces and while I sometimes miss sharing a huge L-shaped desk between the two of us, it’s nice having room to spread out. And it means we don’t always need to wear headsets when watching separate YouTube videos 😉
Am I the only one who sleeps better after the Autumn time change? I get a full hour back! 😀
Room to spread out is definitely nice. I also just really love the quiet and being surrounded by all my books. My husband loves to have a radio on, always… I like it quiet. So this is perfect.
I don’t think you’re the only one who sleeps better during the autumn time. I honestly don’t every notice the timechange on my sleeping schedule.. but now with a little girl things are bound to be different.
Have a great week and happy reading!
Urg! Oh, you have my sympathy – I recall only too well how disruptive the clocks changing used to mess up bedtimes and waking up to the littlies… I’m not a fan, either… Have a great week, Maureen.
Thanks so far the time change hasn’t really bothered our girl. She woke up at 06.30 a.m., in the new time.. So that’s as early as always.. or longer.. well it wasn’t to bad.
Happy reading!
Yeah, I tend to get my hair cut maybe once or twice a year purely because I’m lazy! Lol. I usually need a cut by summer when it’s hot and my hair is so long that I just need it off the back of my neck. I kind of feel like getting one soon just because I feel like it’s getting in my way. But again, I’m lazy about that kind of thing! Lol. Plus I feel like I’d have to go to my mom’s stylist because the people at the walk-in places always mess it up when all I ask is for a very simple cut.
Nice new reads! Those are new to me ones. I hope you enjoy them all!
LOL!! Well I think I’m lazy about my hair too. The stylist asked me what I did with my hair when I woke up.. and I was just looking at her like should I do something? Whahaha.. Apparently I’m supposed to do something in my hair for the frizz. I’m trying it out at the moment. I hate to tell you she has kind of a point. LOL!
Happy reading!
I really need a haircut and plan to get it cut short so I don’t have to go back so soon. The time change is set for November 3rd here. I wish they would stop doing it.
Yes me too. That whole time change thing sucks. And I really don’t think it’s doing what they think it should be doing.
Happy Reading!
I love the clock change to GMT… BST gets on my nerves in a big way and I always struggle to adapt to it but going back to GMT is an easy slide.
I agree with buying lamps! They’re so hard to choose. We’ve been using the ones we came with when we bought our house but my husband has been rumbling about changing them over the past couple of months but we just can’t settle on what to change them to… Oh well!
I hope you have a good week!
Yep.. Lamps are definitely hard. And they are so expensive. Crazy!!
I’m glad you don’t mind the time change as much. Today was the first day our little girl got the memo and slep till 7 a.m. instead of 5 a.m. I hope she keeps it up.
Happy reading!
Ah man, I’ve been on the search for a good hairdresser in my area. I’ve been going to GreatClips for years now as I’m just trying to grow my hair out… but it’s not going very well. My hair is too darn thin! I hope you have a great week!
