What a week! This week I started my new job and my kids started at their new day care. So far I’m really enjoying it. It’s completely different than my previous job, but in a good way and I’m excited to be learning this new role. And my new coworkers are really nice as well. But I definitely didn’t expect to be so damn tired after these first few days. Stupid, I know. So I’m sorry I didn’t visit you guys last week. I planned on doing it.. but after coming home, picking up the kids and getting them ready for bed, I was exhausted and went to sleep early.
The kids are loving their new daycare as well, which is a huge relief. They all are very nice to the kids, and my daughter celebrated three birthdays in her first two days. She definitely thinks celebrating birthdays is normal there now. LOL!
Unfortunately my husband has been having major back problems. He has had them for a few weeks now, but they keep getting worse. Now he can’t walk, sit or lie down without having a lot of pain. He has an appointment with a neurologist in a few weeks (thanks to COVID there’s a huge waiting list), but it’s awful seeing him like this. He definitely isn’t the kind of guy that enjoys staying at home, and relaxing. So it’s hard to see him like this and I just wish I could do something for him.
After my first three days at my new job, I’m relaxing with the kids this weekend. Hopefully I feel rested again for the second week at my job.

I am glad you are in a new job now and it is working well for you. As for me, I am trying to get back to blogging after a long break, hope it sticks!
Happy new year, Maureen.
Welcome back. I was wondering about you 😉
Happy reading.
Glad your new job went well for the first week! That’s great that your kids enjoy their new daycare too! Sorry to hear your husband’s having back problems. It’s rough trying to “rest.” I know from being laid up after multiple surgeries growing up, laying around doing nothing gets real old real fast. Even as a reader! Hope he can get into the doctor sooner rather than later.
Nice new reads! Those are all new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!

Thank you Jessica. It’s definitely challenging.

Congrats on the new job! Is daycare still open with the lockdown? I hope your husband feels better soon. Isn’t there a way he can go see a physical therapist in between now and the appointment with the neurologist?
My Sunday Post: https://lauriereadsalot.com/tags-memes/the-sunday-post-january-9-2022/
Thanks Laurie. Yes, daycare for kids till 4 years is still open. Luckily. It wasn’t with the lockdown last year. But because so many people got trouble with working at home while there babies and todlers had to stay at home.. they changed that role. Today the primary and secondary schools also opened up for the first time in weeks.
Unfortunately my husband has already been to the physical therapist, but he told him he can’t help him anymore.
Happy reading.
I’m so glad the first week at the new job went well, Maureen! And happy that the kids are adjusting to the new day care. So sorry to hear of your husband’s back trouble! It’s so hard to see someone you love in pain. I hope he gets some relief at the upcoming appointment. I squealed when I saw you got Tied! I ADORE that book and it was one of my top faves last year!!
Thank you Tanya. I read TIED.. and OMG!!!! What a great read!!
Happy reading.
