Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ Itβs a chance to
share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and
things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog
for the week ahead.
This week was definitely a nice and quiet one. I worked
two dayshifts, and Iβm now working the nightshift. Three done, and one more to
go. Reading wise I did have a great week. I found time to read at least two
hours every day, and I managed to get back into a good reading routine and I caught
up on my reading schedule. My house on the other hand looks like a huge mess..
but I decided I just donβt care this week. Next week I will have a little more
free time to do house work. This week was just about reading for me!
should think people would sleep at night, but they really donβt.. or at least
not for hours straight. The good part about these busy nightshifts is that they
seem to fly by. And I canβt wait for it to be Monday morning, so my weekend can
start.
week.. But somehow I just keep forgetting about them. Or, on the moment I can
listen to them like for example when Iβm driving to work, I just donβt feel
like concentrating on a audiobook. Sigh.. But Iβm still not ready to give up.
Tonight I will try listening to an audiobook again.
hosted by Herding Cats & Burning Soup. I participated in the big challenge
last year and it was really helpful to get more scheduled posts ready. So this
mini challenge will definitely come in handy to get more scheduled posts ready before
my work trip to Milan, Italy and my holiday to Switzerland at the end of May. Iβm
excited!!

That's awesome Vaneka. This really is a great meme and you definitely get to see a lot of awesome blogs. I started participating in the beginning of the year and really love it. This is the only weekly meme I participate in, so I don't have other suggestions.. but who knows.. maybe you find one on the other blogs that participate in the Sunday Post. π
Happy reading!
It sounds like you had a really busy week at work. I'm glad you were able to find yourself time to read and a new routine. The routine always helped me keep up with the reading too while I was in school.
I hope you enjoy your new book and have a lovely week ahead, Maureen!
Thanks Nick. It definitely was a busy week, but if I can get my reading done.. busy isn't too bad. π
Have a great week!
Glad it was a good reading week! I haven't had a lot of luck with audiobooks but I want to keep trying. Hope your new week is a good one, and good luck with the challenge!
Love the bookish quote! π
I don't know what my problem is with audiobooks.. I love the idea of them.. but somehow they just don't seem to work for me. Sigh..
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week! π
Funny how many can be awake during the night and give you a lot of work. And irregular shifts can be so much fun, having the weekend when everyone else has to start work again. π
Having free days when everybody else has to work definitely has its perks.. but nightshift always make me feel like I'm having a major hangover or something. LOL.
Have a great week π
I guess you must get used to shift work but I'm a terrible sleeper so can't imagine how someone does it!
Glad you had a good reading week and I'm fairly sure the house stuff will be there when you get to it later!
It definitely takes some getting used to. And honestly.. when I was 16 it was a lot easier to work these different shifts than it is now.. And I'm only 26 now.. so I'm a little worried for the future. LOL.
Thanks for stopping by and happy reading π
Oh, I'll have to check out that blog challenge! I love a good challenge π
Here is my Sunday Post
Molly @ Molly's Book Nook
It's definitely a great challenge to get motivated and work on your blog post. There's also a fun FB page where everyone supports each other. It's a lot of fun.
Have a great week π
I'm doing Blog Ahead too, it's just what I need at the moment to catch up a bit on blogging. And I normally love audiobooks but I'm more into Podcasts at the moment. I find the best time for listening though is when I'm doing housework or out walking. That way I can multitask and that's always appealing to me.
Haha, love that bookish quote and for me it's true! I always need a book with me! Even if it's just on my phone, it's a comfort thing π
By the way I love your snapchats, I love seeing snippets of Holland.
Blog Ahead is definitely good for catching up. I'm good right now.. but May will be pretty hectic for me. So catching up on my blog posts is definitely a good thing.
I definitely need to listen to audiobooks while cleaning.. I keep forgetting.
Thanks Trish!! I also love seeing your snapchats. It's so much fun.
Have a great week π
I'm glad to hear you had a good book week! You know, I've never read a Nora Roberts book. Hmmm. Do you highly suggest one?
You definitely should start reading Nora Roberts. She writes all kinds of books and I love them all (almost at least). Her latest book 'The Obsession' is really good, and also 'The Lair'!! I really recommend her books! π
Happy Reading!
That's great that you're finding time to read and getting caught up! I've still been falling behind and not reading as much as usual. Not sure why.
Good luck with your challenges and audiobooks! (I feel you about the audiobooks, I can't concentrate on them either!)
Thanks Kristen. Glad to know I'm not the only one. π
I think we all have a time where we read less than normally.. It will probably pass soon π LOL!
Have a great week.
Enjoy your week…and the new books. I am curious about Nearly Always.
Thanks for visiting my blog.
Thanks Laurel. I can't wait to start 'Nearly Always'.
Have a great week and happy reading! π
Nothing like nice and quiet! Especially for you because your schedule can get crazy sometimes. AND you get to read more like you did :)j a #JUSTREAD week yaaaay π
I find it very hard to concentrate on a audiobooks too this week because of Camp NaNoWriMo. Everything I listen to I relate to what I'm writing and my mind wanders. I signed up for the Blog Ahead (mini) challenge too! Good luck Maureen
I definitely love nice and quiet!! I wish every day was like that. Sigh.. Still keeping up with my schedule.. so Yaaaaay!!
I'm glad I'm not the only one with this audiobook concentration thing. I'll keep trying though!!
Awesome that you also signed up Daniela!! Let's kick some Blog Ahead butt!! π
It sounds really tough to work the nightshift! I'm glad you're busy enough for the time to fly by, though, Maureen.
I've tried to listen to audios in the car, but that didn't work so well for me – I missed my exit on the highway because I was so engrossed in the story. Now, doing housework and listening to a book is bliss!
Have a wonderful week and happy reading.
Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews
Nightshifts definitely aren't very easy.. Sometimes they are.. but most times they are hard work. I'm glad I'm back in the daylight now!! π
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Reading!
Glad you were able to read, and the week was a good one. The cleaning will keep until your ready. Then grab an audiobook and get er done! Have a wonderful week π
I'll definitely have my audiobook ready!! LOL! Thanks for visiting Kimberly π
*you're ready grr.
LOL!! π
The housework can wait, I always say. Well, almost always. π I am glad you were able to get in some decent reading time this past week. Hopefully you can do the same this week.
I have a hard time with audiobooks–I forget about them too. Or I'm not in the mood. It takes me a long time to work my way through an audiobook.
Good luck with the Blog Ahead (mini) challenge. It sounds like a great idea!
Have a great week, Maureen!
The housework just has to wait most times. LOL!!
Happy Reading and Thanks for stopping by π
