Dec

Since its December and slowly on everything is getting decorated with beautiful decorations and lights, I’m feeling a little nostalgic. Like I’ve said before on this blog, I love December and everything about this month. I love the decorations, the lights, the movies on TV, the Christmas music.. Sigh.. So since I’m being nostalgic I was thinking about my favorite book characters.. Today I’m sharing my Top 5 favorite female book Characters.

* Hermione Granger

When I think of female book characters, I always think of
Hermione Granger first. As a huge Harry Potter fan since the first book came
out all those years ago, I grew up with Harry Potter and his friends at
Hogwarts. And from the beginning I always loved Hermione Granger. I loved how
smart she was and how she always was herself. But above all I loved her book
addiction. I just really wanted to be her. I loved reading about how Hermoine
was always reading and the way she knew almost every book out there.

Here are some of my favorite Hermione Granger sayings:

“Books! And
cleverness! There are more important things — friendship and bravery and — oh
Harry — be careful!”
“I hope
you’re pleased with yourselves. We could have been all killed — or worse,
expelled.”

Yes, Hermione Granger definitely is my favorite female
book character.

* Katniss Everdeen

A view years ago I read all three the Hunger Games books by Suzanne Collins
in only a day and half. From the very first chapter I was hooked to this story
and to its main character Katniss Everdeen. I couldn’t stop reading those books
until I’ve read them all.

The reason why I really like this character is because I
love strong female characters. And Katniss definitely was a strong character.
The way Katniss fought to survive the Hunger Games and how she became the
Mocking Jay was impressive to say the least. And even though I didn’t agree
with everything she did and how she did it.. Katniss Everdeen still is
definitely one of my favorite female characters.

* Bella Swan

Years ago, when the first Twilight book by Stephenie Meyer got published, I
read it and became an instant fan of the Twilight series and especially a fan
of the main character Bella. The thing I loved most about the Twilight series
and Bella is that her character was just a ‘normal’ girl. In my teens I could
easily imagine being Bella Swan and I think this was the biggest reason I loved
this series so much.

Of course the romance between Bella and Edward Cullen was
amazing and truly beautiful and addicting to read about. But Bella really made
this series for me. Even now I still love to read this series.

* Clary Fray

The Mortal Instrument series by Cassandra Clare is one of those series that
I didn’t expect to like, but began to love after reading the first chapter. Clary
Fray is another example of an awesome strong female character. What I love
about this series is that there are six books and I really was able to get to
know Clary Fray. And I loved reading about her. Clary was strong and was able
to really fight for the people and the things she loved. The romance story
between Clary and Jace also was really fun to read about.
Too bad the movie wasn’t really good, but there is a TV
series coming that looks amazing.

 * Meghan Chase

A great female character I loved from the very first page
was Meghan Chase. Meghan Chase is the main character of the Iron Fey series by
J.K. Kagawa. This is an amazing series and I couldn’t stop reading these books.
Meghan is a character who finds out there is a whole world she didn’t know
about and a lot of secrets that involve her. Apart from that, Meghan really is
the girl next door. She isn’t popular in school and doesn’t seem to fit in
anywhere. This definitely made it easy to like Meghan. Her character was
someone I could really become friends with. She was tough and brave and I
really liked getting to know this character.

Which female book character is your favorite? And why?
