Welcome at my stop on the ‘Operation Owl’ by Tara Quan
Blog Tour. ‘Operation Owl’ is a Contemporary Romance Novel and has been
published on July 15. ‘Operation Owl’ is inspired by a Grimm’s fairy tale.
I hope you enjoy your stay here at ‘Maureen’s Books’.

About the Book:

Five years ago, Maya Jain kissed her best friend only to
have him run out of her dorm room and leave the state. When he shows up in Washington,
D.C., a wanted fugitive sought after by every branch of the US government, she
can’t bring herself to ignore his plight. As their physical relationship picks
up where it left off, she decides it’s time to make him see her as more than
the bespectacled, bookish girl he once called “Owl.”

After being accused of espionage and treason, Zack Strong needs a forensic
accountant to help clear his name. Not knowing who he can trust, this white-hat
hacker has no choice but to ask his former best friend and math tutor for help.
Together they unravel a cyber conspiracy at the Barn, an NSA facility tasked to
intercept electronic communications. But as they traverse the nation’s capital
to avoid capture, Maya insists on letting their simmering sexual tension take
its natural course. Even though he’s never been able to shake the memory of
their one kiss, he refuses to let her give up her life for a man with no
future.

My Review:

A view
weeks ago I came across the sign up page for ‘Operation Owl’. This book sounded
like something I would really enjoy so I immediately signed up. The description
sounded very interesting and I couldn’t wait to start reading. So a couple of
days ago I could finally start reading.
In
‘Operation Owl’ we meet twenty five year old Maya. Maya is a math genius and
she has been in love with her best friend, Zach for years. Unfortunately Maya
hasn’t seen Zach since she kissed him years ago. That is until now. Zach is in
trouble and Maya is the only one who can help him. But it is hard for Zach to
be around Maya. Ever since Maya kissed him, and he got scared of what he felt
for her he tried to stay away. Now he hasn’t got a choice and soon he can’t
stay away from Maya anymore.
What I
really liked about ‘Operation Owl’ was the way you’re immediately right in the
middle of all the action. There’s no slowly getting to know the characters.
This book is very short and everything happens very fast. I know, as a fanatic
reader, that sounds like a bad thing but to be honest I enjoyed the fast going
story very much. This book is perfect when you’re short in time and you still
really need something fun and interesting to read. I loved the chemistry
between Maya and Zach but I also really enjoyed the illegal and running- for-
the- FBI stuff.
The
character I loved the most was Zach. I loved the way he tried to suppress his
feelings for Maya because he was scared and not ready for a serious commitment.
I really enjoyed reading about how he made everything harder for himself. It
sort of sounded familiar. LOL!
I found
‘Operation Owl’ a very enjoyable book and I seriously loved the cover. This
book is perfect for a lazy afternoon.
