Tyler is living every author’s dream: her books are all best sellers and she
writes full time. She has worked hard and is well-accomplished in her career,
and she has the support and love of her beautiful children and girlfriend.

But the dream soon turns into a terrible nightmare when her latest manuscript
is stolen. She decides to fight for what is rightfully hers, only to find that
the harder she tries, the easier it all slips through her fingers, putting her
career, her family, and her life in jeopardy.

A couple
of weeks ago Lori Lesko approached me with the question if I wanted to review
her book. After I read the blurb of ‘Copyright a novel’ I decided to read it.
This book really sounded like an interesting read.
In ‘Copyright
a Novel’ we follow author Amber Tyler. Amber lives with her
girlfriend/love-of-her-life Karen and their two kids Danny (16) and Kira (5) in
a beautiful house on the beach. Amber has written a couple of best seller books
and is now very busy with her new one.
One day
when Amber is in her office writing she gets chest pains and soon she is being
rushed to the hospital. After heart surgery, Amber is soon recovering and
trying to get on with her life. When everything seems to be back on track Amber
finds out that the book she’s been working on for the last two years has been
published by someone else. Someone has stolen all of Ambers hard work. Soon
Amber’s life is a mess and everything she worked had for is slipping through
her fingers.
I
finished reading ‘Copyright a Novel’ in just one day and I must say I really
liked this book. From the very first page I was interested and intrigued by the
characters and their life. Lori Lesko’s writing style is very ‘easy’ to read
which makes it a fun book to read.
I really
loved how unpredictable this story was. I would be completely sure about what
would happen next and then something totally different would happen. I really
needed to know what would happen next because it was just so exciting and
thrilling.
The
character I liked the most in this book was Karen, Amber’s girlfriend. Karen
was so strong and somehow I really felt connected with her. I love how she
fought for her family and gave up hope.
At Amber
I sometimes just wanted to scream. She made these very stupid decisions and was
at times very selfish. But at the other hand.. If something I worked so hard
for would be stolen. I would also be devastated.
What I
also really liked was the stuff about the heart surgery Amber had. I worked at
a Cardio Surgery Department for a year so it was very recognizable. It was also
very accurate. I really liked that.
So I
would definitely recommend this book to everyone who likes an exciting and
compelling read. This book will not disappoint you.
