When I signed up for an ARC for ‘Shattered Sins’, I was intrigued by the description. It just really sounded like a book for me. Unfortunately, what I didn’t know was that this was book two in a series. And reading book one is definitely something I’d recommend since I missed important information which made me enjoy this book, but not love it the way I might have if I read the first book as well. But still.. since I enjoyed this book more than enough to give it 3.5 stars.. I figured my review might be worth it. 😉
In ‘Shattered Sins’ we meet Kane and JoJo right when JoJo tells Kane some life changing information. Their starting relationship, is suddenly in trouble and things seem like they can never get better again. But they have a history, and a connection that can’t be denied. And although they have a lot to get through, they can’t seem to say goodbye to each other.
Although I was a bit shocked to find out that I should have read another book prior to this one, it took me only a short while to get where this story was about and what was going on. Sure, I missed some information, but I could easily figure out what it was through reading it. And I enjoyed getting to know the characters and their story.
The two main characters Kane and JoJo, definitely had some chemistry going on. And although it took me awhile to really feel their chemistry, I soon started to love them and rooted for them. There where some side characters I enjoyed getting to know as well. Some definitely more than others. But it really was fun.
‘Shattered Sins’ was a pretty short book, but the romance was fun to read and I loved the characters. It was a lot more mellow than most books I read. But it really was worth the read. I’d definitely recommend reading book one first though.
