Usually, watching a notorious biker club mourn the loss of their beloved president would be a dangerous choice.

Ten out of ten do not recommend.

Unless of course, you're family.

I didn't really consider myself part of my father's legacy, until I found out what he left behind in his will. Property, ten acres to be exact, which included the headquarters for his beloved motorcycle club.

I had no idea that by accepting the terms of my inheritance it would thrust me into a battle with the new club president.

Wesley Ryan was unfathomably handsome, menacing and formidable in every way. But his derision toward me only made me cling that much tighter to my birthright.

That is until he decided to play dirty.

Wes didn't just taunt me by bringing up our past, he wanted us to go all the way back to where we started.

Back to when we were nine and I was just the girl next door who snuck into his treehouse.

Back to when he'd fight the boys who made me cry.

Back to when he first kissed me and stole my heart.

I had to remember Wes wanted to claim my father's property, not me.

I walked away once, I just had to prove I was strong enough to do it again.

After reading the Mount Macon series by Ashley Munoz I knew this was an author I wanted to read more from. I loved and devoured that series! Lucky enough I was able to join Ashley’s ARC team, and when I learned about her new series surrounding a motorcycle club I was immediately fascinated. I’m not always a fan of MC series, but since Ashley wrote this one, I was excited to read it.

In ‘Where We Started’ we read the story of Callie Stone and Wesley Ryan. Callie is the daughter of the Stone Riders MC president, and has grown up surrounded by MC stuff. Not everything was bad, but being surrounded by parties, learning to have to stay away from certain men, she always knew she wanted to have another life when she grew up. When Callie was in her early teens, she meets Wesley Ryan. From the moment they meet there is an instant connection between them. They grow up together and get closer. And soon they become more than friends. They are inseparable, but they want different things and Callie decides to leave her hometown and Wes behind.

Now years later, Callie is forced to come back to Rose Ridge when she learns that her father has passed away. And now she also has to come face to face with the guy who broke her heart all those years ago. Wes is now the MC’s president, and this life has really hardened him. And although the chemistry between them is still there, Callie must try to remember Wes isn’t the same guy anymore.

‘Where We Started’ was a book that pulled me in right from the start. Although I find the whole MC scene mostly very disturbing, especially for women, there was something about this story that made me want to read more. And in the end I found myself loving a lot of these characters. Especially the two main characters Callie and Wes. I loved how they have always loved each other and shared this amazing connection.

Next to a fun romance, this book had some suspense and mystery to it. And I found myself wanting to keep on reading, just so I would know how things would end up. The setting of Rose Ridge and the MC club was very interesting. And we read about some side characters, of which I can’t wait to read their stories.

Although life at the MC club might be rough and hard. This book wasn’t to rough at all. Above everything this was a romance novel. Sure there where some MC rules that were a bit crazy and outdated, but rules are bend and in the end I definitely began to love that club.

‘Where We Started’ was a great start to a brand new series and I can’t wait for the next book. Ashley Munoz definitely did a great job with this one and I’d really recommend it.
