GoodreadsHarrison I loved Laney Landers before most people learned to read.Blonde hair, blue eyes that rivaled the ocean, and an invisible halo over her head. She stole my heart the same day she threw sand in my face. What started as a friendship grew into so much more.I thought she’d be my forever. But then life threw me a curveball and I changed course.Laney moved on and found a different happily ever after...While I wallowed in grief and regret. And now she’s here, reminding me that I made the biggest mistake of my life.
Laney I loved Harrison Montgomery since the first day he saved me a seat in kindergarten. He was my best friend, my own real-life prince. He taught me to ride a bike and showed me how to shoot a three-pointer in basketball. He was my first kiss.My first love.My first heartache. My first everything.I don’t believe in happily ever after anymore.Harrison forced me to write a new ending to my story. But seeing him again after all these years—it makes me want things I shouldn’t.Because that chapter of my life is closed forever.Or is it?
After having read the other two books in the Montgomery Brothers series, I knew I wanted to read this book as well. I was so curious to read the story of Harrison and Laney after having read small bits about them in the previous books. So when I had a little opening in my reading schedule, I started right away.
In ‘Peacekeeper’ we read the story of Harrison and Laney. They met when they were five years old, and when they got older the closer they got. From best friends to soulmates. But when Harrison lost his dad, he made the decision to let Laney go back to college without him. He never thought this decision would mean he never saw Laney again. And now five years later, she is engaged to another man and he will have to life with mistake forever.
I was so curious to read this story. And it definitely didn’t disappoint. Harrison and Laney have this insane ‘once in a lifetime’ connection that you could definitely feel through every word. I loved them! But life got between them, and they grew apart. I loved reading how they slowly got closer again.
The romance was great and I was definitely hooked to this story. I did feel it was a bit strange for Harrison to accept Laney’s rejections so much when they had such an intense relationship, but in the end it fitted the story.
Laney was definitely my favorite character and I just loved how she was there for her family and in the end also for Harrison. She was one of those characters I can imagine being my friend in real life.
Although his book wasn’t my favorite in the series, I really enjoyed every moment. And I can’t wait to read what Laura Pavlov has in store for us next.

This sounds like a great story. I love when the couple were BFFs, the earlier the better, and then they get together years later. Wonderful review.
I totally agree with you! And this one was really fun!
Glad you knocked this one off your list to read of Pavlov’s. I listened to it earlier this year. I would agree it wasn’t my favorite in the series, but I liked it. I need to go back and read some of her other earlier series as well. I am so excited for a new book to come out from her, but since she just released one it will be a while.
She is definitely one of my ‘go to’ authors. I’m glad to read you felt the same about this one.
