Beautiful, perfect and everything he needs. Caitie Russell's big brother is getting married. As the proud owner of Holiday Magic, Caitie is the obvious choice to organise the perfect Christmas wedding. Piece of cake, right? If it weren't for one gorgeous man-shaped problem... Her brother's best friend, Brecken Miller. He was her first crush. Her first kiss. And he doesn’t even remember it. Construction worker Brecken Miller is a modern-day Scrooge. The confirmed bachelor would rather pull his nails out than celebrate Christmas, until he sees Caitie again. Like a moth to a flame he’s drawn to her. But there’s a problem with fire. It always leaves a scar.

I’ve loved every book I’ve read by Carrie Elks so far. And the books in the Angel Sands Series are no exception. So when I heard the fourth book in the series was coming, and it had a Christmas theme, I couldn’t be more excited. A Christmas and Carrie Elks read is my kind of perfect. So when I was able too, I started reading as fast as I could.

In ‘Just A Kiss’ we meet Brecken Miller. Brecken is back in the little town he grew up in after leaving it years ago after his mom died. Now his best friend Lucas is getting married at Christmas, a time Breck normally disappears to escape the day his mom past away all those years ago. But with a wedding coming up, disappearing isn’t an option. And when Brecken sees Lucas’s baby sister Caitie for the first time in years, he is struck by her beauty and kindness.Caitie rarely comes back to the little town her parents and brother still life. But with her brother getting married, and her helping out with the wedding preparations she can’t stay away anymore. And when she sees one of her brothers friends, who she had a major crush on growing up, she can’t deny it’s good to be back home.

‘Just A Kiss’ is definitely a great, fun and really romantic read. I loved this book from the very first page. The two main characters Brecken and Caitie have this chemistry between them that is flying of the pages, and I just loved getting to know them. The whole best friend of her brother thing, is always something I enjoy. (Perhaps because my husband is the brother of one of my school girlfriends LOL) And the whole Christmas thing made this book even more enjoyable. I found myself reading this book till way to late because I just couldn’t get enough.

The best part about this book for me, was definitely how ‘real’ Brecken and Caitie where. They aren’t perfect, and their life isn’t perfect. It really makes this book feel like something that could really happen and I love that.

Next to the two main characters we also get to read about the other characters in the Angel Sands series, and I just love that. It’s like catching up with old friends!! And we also get to read about Caitlie’s best friend Harper, and I can’t wait to read more about her. I read something about her book coming up next. I’m excited.

If you’re looking for a fun, relaxing and very romantic Christmas read.. This book is definitely for you.

When the door closed behind her for a second time, Caitie bit down a smile and slowly turned to look at Breck. He was leaning on the wall, arms folded across his chest, the skin at the corner of his eyes crinkling up as he smiled at her.

“Hello,” he said, his smile widening.

“Hi.”

She felt breathless as the air around them snapped and crackled. The hairs on her neck stood up. Breck slowly pushed off the wall and walked over to the sofa where she was standing, his strides long and confident.

Caitie didn’t move. She wasn’t even sure if she could. Her muscles were tense with anticipation, her skin tingling with need. There was a half-smile on his lips as he reached out for her chin, using the pads of his fingers to tip her face up.

“Cait…” His voice caressed her ears. She loved the way her name sounded on his lips.

“Did you know you’re the only one who calls me that?” she asked breathlessly.

“Do you mind?”

She shook her head slowly, his fingers still holding her. “No. I like it.” Too much.

He took another step forward, his eyes firmly on hers. “I like it, too,” he said. “The same way I like you.”

Her chest tightened. Standing so close to him felt overwhelming. She could smell the woody scent of his cologne, feel his firm touch as his fingers caressed her jaw. Everywhere she looked, all she saw was him.

“Where were we last week?” he asked her.

The corner of her lip quirked up. “Remind me?”

He chuckled and lowered his head until his lips were a breath away from hers. She could see the thickness of his eyelashes, the strong line of his nose, the warmth of his skin where it was kissed by the California sun.

“I think it was a little like this,” he murmured, brushing his lips against hers.

Check out my reviews of the previous books in this series:

Carrie Elks writes contemporary romance with a sizzling edge. Her first book, Fix You, has been translated into eight languages and made a surprise appearance on Big Brother in Brazil. Luckily for her, it wasn’t voted out. Carrie lives with her husband, two lovely children and a larger-than-life black pug called Plato. When she isn’t writing or reading, she can be found baking, drinking an occasional (!) glass of wine, or chatting on social media. For more information about Carrie please visit her website. Or visit her on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. You can also join her Facebook Group and sign up for her newsletter.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
