GoodreadsTalia Eden loved Foster Madden for one year, two months and eleven days. It was on day 438 that her love died. The day he chose to marry her best friend. The day she vowed never to think of Foster again.
Until years later when he has the audacity to show up in her small hometown of Quincy, begging for her help.
The ink on his divorce papers is barely dry, yet he comes armed with apologies and promises. She knows it’s all a ploy. Foster is the king of games and secrets. But he’s got delusions the size of Montana if he thinks she’ll help him train for a world championship fight.
Except Talia has forgotten exactly what made Foster famous. The man has dedicated his life to victory. He’s steadfast. He’s determined. And he won’t stop fighting until he’s won her heart.
I loved the books I read by Devney Perry, and I loved the first two books in the Eden series. So when I was looking for my next audiobook and saw ‘Garnet Flats’, I knew this was going to be my next listen.
In ‘Garnet Flats’ we read the story of Dalia and Foster. Dalia and Foster met years ago in College, and they loved each other fiercely. At least that was what Dalia thought. But when Foster left her behind, to marry her best friend, he broke her heart and made her doubt everything.
These last few years Dalia worked hard to get her medical degree, and to forget Foster. She moved back to her small home town, and loves being surrounded by her family.
The last thing Dalia expected was to find Foster standing at her door all these years later. He tells her he is divorced and wants to make things up to her. Soon Dalia learns that there is a lot about Foster she didn’t know. But how can she ever trust Foster again? Unfortunately she doesn’t seem to be able to escape him in her small home town. And there is still an explosive chemistry between them.
From the moment I started listening to ‘Garnet Flats’ I was hooked. There was just something about Dalia and Foster’s story that made me love them right from the start. But I honestly couldn’t imagine what could be good enough a reason for Dalia to forgive Foster. I mean, marrying her best friend? Ouch. But just like Dalia, I found myself charmed by Forster right from the start. And the further we go in this read, the more we start to understand and I loved it.
The chemistry between Dalia and Foster was amazing. Sparks flew easily of the page and I loved them so much. There where plenty of steamy moments, and it definitely gave me butterflies to read about how much and how well Foster loved Dalia. We get to read this story through both their point of views, and it was just great.
The small town of Quincy is just as charming as in the previous books, and I loved reading a little bit about the main characters from the previous two books. It definitely was fun to get back to the Eden family.
The narration by Cindy Kay and Connor Crais was definitely very good. I loved listening to their voices, and they kept my interest right from the start. Especially Connor’s voice fitted my idea of Foster perfectly.
Overall ‘Garnet Flats’ was another great read/listen and I’m definitely planning on reading the other books in this series as well. Perhaps even on audio.

I have fallen behind on Devney Perry’s books and need to get caught up! I have not started The Edens series yet but can’t wait to dive it. I haven’t heard of Cindy Kay before but I love Connor Crais!

I hope you’ll get to read The Edens, I love this family.
I’m glad you enjoyed this one. I had mixed feelings about the guy and the way he handled things.
Yes, he could definitely have handled things a lot better. But I still loved him. LOL!
Such a great review, but I’m still trying to wrap my brain around him marrying her best friend. Gosh, the grovel game better be good. I’m going to add this because I HAVE TO KNOW what this is all about!!
Thanks Natalie. Let me tell you.. it definitely made me think twice when I was looking for a new audiobook. But it was worth it in the end. I hope you’ll get to check this one out 😉
