He hadn’t always just been my brother’s best friend. There was a time when he was mine, too. Until he disappeared from our small town when I needed him the most.
Now, Caden’s back. With his cocky smirk and infuriating nicknames. And I’m struggling to ignore his presence.
When my ex refuses to leave me alone, Caden steps in, suggesting that it will get my ex and Caden’s calculating father off both our backs if we just pretend to be madly in love.
There’s just one problem.… Nothing I feel for Caden Shaw is fake—even when I thought I hated him. And there’s no denying how the touch of his lips sparks a flame I’ll never be able to extinguish.
As those pretend moments start to turn oh so real, someone’s watching. They’re not happy about Caden’s new role in my life. And they’ll do anything to rip me away from him—even burn us all to the ground….

I’ve been loving the Lost & Found series by Catherine Cowles. I’ve loved all her books so far, but reading the stories of the Hartley siblings easily gave them a special place in my heart. So when ‘Glimmers of You’ arrived on my kindle, I wanted to drop everything and start reading as soon as I could. Cedar Ridge is definitely a town I adore reading about. A small town, surrounded by mountains and filled with kind people. (Mostly!) I couldn’t wait to dive right into this one.

In ‘Glimmers of You’ we read the story of Grae and Caden. Caden is Grae’s brother’s best friend and also the one guy Grae has loved forever. When they were younger they had a special relationship and Grae always thought Caden would one day love her as more than a friend. But then he moved away and never seemed to want to be her friend again. Now whenever Caden comes back to town for a short visit, they can’t be nice to each other. Grae hates what Caden makes her feel. And Caden acts like Grae has never been more than his best friends little sister.

But when Caden moves back to town, at least for a little while, it’s hard for Grae to keep her distance. Especially when Grae starts being stalked by a guy she went on a few dates with. When Caden needs a ‘girlfriend’ to keep his dad and boss quiet, the solution for both their problems seems to be convincing everyone they are dating for real. But faking a relationship with the guy you secretly loved might not be a good idea at all. Especially when Grae life seems to be in danger.

‘Glimmers of You’ was one of those reads I could easily read in one sitting. I’ve been excited about reading Grae and Caden’s story from the moment we got a few hints about them in the previous books. And when I started reading, I was hooked. I loved being back in Cedar Ridge and reading about the Hartley siblings. Grae’s character was so much fun. She is the only girl, surrounded by strong brothers, and being diagnosed with Diabetes makes everyone think she needs taking care of. But Grae can definitely take care of herself, and I loved how she stood her ground whenever one of her brothers, or Caden wanted to make decisions for her.

There is a chemistry between Grae and Caden right from the start. You can definitely feel it through their bickering. It made for some exciting moments which I loved reading. When they slowly grow closer again, after having been friends years ago, I knew I would love every moment of this book. And I did. Reading the book through both Grae and Caden’s point of view was perfection.

Next to some steamy moments, there is plenty of suspense going on. And just like with every book written by Catherine Cowles I was really sure I knew who the bad person was, but I had it wrong.. as usual!

‘Glimmers of You’ was a great read, and I absolutely loved it. The romance was great, but above all it made me so curious about the next book. (Right from the start I figured Roan Hartley would be the one who will break me heart!) If you haven’t read the Lost & Found series yet, I would definitely recommend you’ll start right now. These books are standalones, but I love reading them in order.
