My new assistant is all smiles and sunshine—and she’s about to set fire to my cold, grumpy heart.

I've moved to this god-forsaken small town to run the family business.
I need to hire a new PA and the pickings are slim.
Some say my irrational expectations are the reason I've gone through assistants quicker than most people refill their coffee.
Incompetence is my pet peeve.
If that makes me irrational, so be it.
Then Georgia Reynolds walks into my office.
Blonde hair.
Sapphire eyes.
And a smart mouth that irritates me as much as it turns me on.
On top of being a rockstar at her job, she is a ray of freaking sunshine on steroids.
I have no patience for it.
Nor for the way she flutters around the office like a modern-day Tinkerbell.
She has ridiculous taste in music.
Drives an unreasonable form of transportation.
And did I mention that I caught her dancing in my closet when I sent her on a simple errand?
My new assistant has somehow become my kryptonite.
But I am her boss, and I am not going to be a pathetic cliché.
It doesn’t matter that my cold, jaded heart has started beating again.
In my world, a beating heart makes you weak.
And I do not tolerate weaknesses.

Laura Pavlov is one of my favorite authors, and I’m lucky enough to be a part of her ARC team. After devouring the first book in this series ‘Into The Tide’, in March, I couldn’t wait to read the next book in the series. And when ‘Under The Stars’ was sent to my Kindle, I started reading right away.

In ‘Under The Stars’ we meet Georgia. Georgia is the youngest in her family and has just graduated college. After a horrible last relationship, she decides it’s time to move back to her small town of Cottonwood Cove and figure out what she wants to do with her life. First up is getting a job. When Georgia gets a job interview to work for a publishing house set in her small town, she is immediately super excited. From the moment Georgia meets the grumpy Maddox, she is determined to make him see why he should hire her. And when he does, she promises herself to make him never want to get another PA. The fact that he is extremely handsome, isn’t so bad either.

‘Under The Stars’ was right from the start an amazing, addicting and simple wonderful read. I read it in a day, and couldn’t put it down. Not only is the chemistry between Georgia and Maddox amazing, this book also was just hilarious at some moments and I laughed out loud several times.

Right from the start Georgia and Maddox find themselves fascinated by one another. But they couldn’t be more different. Georgia is the fun, happy, big family, go with the flow kind of girl. And Maddox is a workaholic, with no family to count on and he doesn’t really know how to ‘relax’. The interaction between Georgia and Maddox where just so good and I enjoyed every moment in this book. But since Georgia works for Maddox, he is determined to keep thing strictly professional between them.

Although I absolutely loved the romance in this book, and the chemistry was simple amazing, I most of all loved to read about Georgia and her family. The way they where together, and how they made sure Maddox would feel welcome right from the start, even though they weren’t together at all at that point.

‘Under The Stars’ was a wonderful read I’d really recommend. Funny, romantic and with some great steamy moments.. it was a perfect read. Add the setting in Cottonwood Cove, and the fun Reynold Siblings and it’s a win for me. I can’t wait to read more books in this series.
