A little while ago I got the opportunity to read ‘Intimate Danger’ by D.C. Stone. Since I love Romantic Suspense novels this book definitely got me intrigued. And since I hadn’t read any D.C. Stone novel before, this book sounded like the perfect place to start.
In ‘Intimate Danger’ we meet small town detective Charlie. Charlie is a cop through and through. Her dad was one, and now she is a detective herself. But she has to work hard to prove herself in her little town. So when she is assigned to a new case involving a disturbing guy, she sees this as her shot at being taken seriously. But things get even more complicated when FBI agent Trent Rossi is also signed to the case. And not only is he is FBI, he is also really handsome and charming and possible a suspect.
This book was from the start one I wasn’t able to put down. The suspense was really great, and I found myself wondering what was really going on all the time. The fact that this book is both written through Charlie’s point of view and the villain’s point of view was really interesting, fascinating and definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. I mean.. reading the villain’s point of view was downright disturbing.. but pretty interesting too.
The romance between Charlie and Trent wasn’t really as exciting as I hoped it would be, but it was good enough to keep me interested. There were some fun and hot moments between the two of them, and although I didn’t really get them I really was rooting for them.
The down part.. The writing itself was a little confusing for me at times. There were things that just didn’t really add up, and some parts that where just making me question things that I don’t think where meant that way. I felt like the author was just so excited to share everything with her readers, that certain parts just went too fast. And in the end it just made this read a little less ‘OMG’ than I thought it would be.
‘Intimate Danger’ was definitely a fun read. And I’m curious to read the other books in this series.

It’s always a bummer when the romance isn’t as exciting as you want it to be! It was one of my main issues with The Honey-Don’t List–too little steam. LOTS of drama, though. Also, covers like this make me want to workout more often, haha! 😉

The romance part was definitely a bit of a bummer, but I still liked it. 😉
