In the last couple of weeks I’ve been reading the three previous books in the Girls Weekend Away Series, and I’ve loved them. It has been so much fun getting to know the four girlfriends, and reading about their trips and finding love. So when I got the opportunity to read the fourth and final book in the series ‘A Match Made In Monaco’ I obviously couldn’t resist and started reading as soon as possible.

‘A Match Made In Monaco’ is the story of Fredi. Fredi is a successful bridal gown designer but doesn’t believe in love at all. For the last view months Fredi has been texting with a handsome movie star. Her designated date for her friend’s wedding. Because this time one of the friends is finally marrying the love of her life! But although Fredi has enjoyed texting with Zayn over the last view months making sure everything is set for the wedding, and although she finds him very attractive she doesn’t necessarily look forward to spending time with him in Monaco. After all, love isn’t real and the things she feels for Zayn are nothing more than a distraction.

I love that this book takes place in Monaco. I’ve been there twice and I loved visiting there. It’s such a pretty, extravagant and somehow magical place. I can easily picture a romance taken place there. So when I was reading this book I was totally imagining myself walking through the streets I’ve actually walked before. (Although I haven’t been to the expensive stores like Prada etc.) And it was fun to actually spend time on one of the enormous boats I’ve been seeing there.. if only in my mind. LOL!

Since Fredi’s story is the last one in the series, I was really looking forward to reading about her and to find out how the one who doesn’t believe in love finally finds love herself. Unfortunately I didn’t like this story as much as I did the previous three. It was still a nice read, but I just didn’t feel their romance as much as the previous ones. Maybe because in this book Fredi and Zayn already have been talking for months, and we start the story right before they meet. I somehow felt like I missed something because of that.

Zayn’s character was fun, but I felt like I didn’t know him as much as I did the other guys in the series. I did love how much he cared for Fredi, and was working really hard to make Fredi see that they belonged together. I just wished we would have gotten to know him a little more.

That being said, I loved reading about the wedding of Bonni and Quinn. It’s so fun to keep reading about these romances throughout the series. And although I’m sad the series has come to an end, I definitely enjoyed every moment of reading about these four girlfriends.

Fredi peered through the old glass panes when she heard the sound of tires crunching on the driveway and saw a sleek, very sporty car emerge from between the trees.

She left the greenhouse and shut the door behind her. The top was down on the sports car and Zayn looked very enticing behind the wheel. That damn earlier flutter in her belly came back with a vengeance. It was one thing to see him on the screen of a movie theater or her laptop, but in person?

Whew. When he spotted her, the look of delight on his face gave Fredi a little thrill. She tried to hide it behind a poker face. Stones crunched and flew from beneath the wheels as he pulled to a stop in front of her. Fredi stared down at him and, for the briefest moment, liked the little flutter inside her.

But here he was, the man behind the phone, tablet and silver screen. He looked totally dashing in his car, like an old-style movie star, handsome, mysterious. His skin was deeply tanned, his dark hair windblown, and a pair of very stylish and obviously expensive pewter-colored sunglasses shielded his eyes. But it was his smile that made her almost melt into a puddle – which surprised the hell out of her – a smile she grudgingly accepted she’d been eager to see in real life.

She had just reached for the handle of the passenger side door when he hopped from the car and swept her into a bear hug, before pulling back and kissing her cheeks in greeting. She barely had time to register the feeling of his body, hard, warm and solid, against hers before he was opening the door for her.

“You look absolutely gorgeous, as to be expected. Hop into my chariot, ma chérie.”

Fredi felt slightly stunned as she gazed at this sexy man. He oozed a sensuality that was tangible and it draped over her in a wonderfully erotic wave. Fredi sucked in a steadying breath, taken aback at her heightened attraction to him. There was no doubt she was very in tune with him and it almost made her want to drag him back to her room in the château and get him naked. She slid on to the leather seat. He gently closed the door and, as he walked around the car, she took a moment to collect herself and watch him. Wowza – he moved with a stealthy grace that made her heart pound. If Ava was here, she’d be babbling about love. Tilting her head away, she shook it a little.

More like lust, am I right? Good God, he was way hotter in person.
