Chloe
Peterson is having a bad night. A really bad night. The large bruise on her
cheek can attest to that. And when her car skids off the side of a wet country
road straight into a ditch, she’s convinced even the gorgeous guy who rescues
her in the middle of the rain storm must be too good to be true. Or is he?

As a successful photographer who frequently travels around the world, Chase
Sullivan has his pick of beautiful women, and whenever he’s home in San
Francisco, one of his seven siblings is usually up for causing a little fun
trouble. Chase thinks his life is great just as it is–until the night he finds
Chloe and her totaled car on the side of the road in Napa Valley. Not only has
he never met anyone so lovely, both inside and out, but he quickly realizes she
has much bigger problems than her damaged car. Soon, he is willing to move
mountains to love–and protect–her, but will she let him?

Chloe vows never to make the mistake of trusting a man again. Only, with every
loving look Chase gives her–and every sinfully sweet caress–as the attraction
between them sparks and sizzles, she can’t help but wonder if she’s met the
only exception. And although Chase didn’t realize his life was going to change
forever in an instant, amazingly, he isn’t the least bit interested in fighting
that change. Instead, he’s gearing up for a different fight altogether…for
Chloe’s heart.

My Review:

Ever since
I gave birth to our beautiful baby girl I had some trouble getting back into
reading. Obviously our whole life changed and I didn’t really know how to start
reading again. I didn’t have a lot of time for reading, and when I did I fall
asleep. Now our baby girl is a little older and we have a little bit of a
rhythm. So I found myself having some reading time. And I really wanted to
start reading again with something romantic and easy to get into. Soon I found
The Sullivans series and I started reading the first book.
In ‘The
Look of Love’ we meet Chase Sullivan. Chase is a photographer and just left a
family party when he finds Chloe Peterson standing on the side of the road. The
weather is bad, her car is in a ditch and there is a big bruise on Chloe’s
cheek. From the moment Chase sees Chloe he finds himself wanting to protect
her. But Chloe is determined never to trust a man again.
‘The Look
of Love’ is the first book in the Sullivans series and it starts with a little
introduction of the Sullivans family. Although a little predictable, every man
in the family is super handsome of course, I found myself intrigued with the
family. This definitely made me want to keep on reading. And after Chase met
Chloe and the first romantic moments started to appear I found myself loving
this book.
The
character I loved the most was Chase. I loved that he was a photographer. It
was fun to read about his profession. But what I loved most about him was the
way he was very patient with Chloe. He was just so sweet and kind to her. I
loved that. And everyone who knows me knows that I love a big family. So the
Sullivans couldn’t really go wrong with me.
The
romance between Chase and Chloe is very predictable but I enjoyed it.
Everything moves very fast, but somehow this didn’t bother me. There where a
lot of sex scenes, and I honestly could have done with a little less of them.
But still..  ‘The Look of Love’ is just
an easy, romantic, nothing complicated book that was perfect to get me back
into the reading groove.
Although this
book was definitely predictable I still find myself wanting to read the other
books in this series. I just want to know what will happen with other Sullivan
siblings.
