GoodreadsThe last person on earth I want to be stranded with is Gianni Lupo.
But thanks to the blizzard of the century, I’m trapped in a roadside motel room with that cocky bastard for two straight days.
With one small bed.
Some women might thank Mother Nature for delivering a polar vortex that maroons them with six feet of solid muscle, those deep blue eyes, that sexy grin--but not me. I’ve known Gianni Lupo all my life, and he’s never brought me anything but bad luck and trouble.
So when the tension between us explodes with enough fiery heat to melt my icy defenses, I should have known what the disastrous end result would be--
A big fat plus sign.
After the snow melts, I’m left with more than just memories of the night we spent keeping each other warm. And he might be a rising star on the culinary scene, but he’s got no idea how to handle this bun in the oven.
He says he wants to do the right thing, but I’m not about to spend the rest of my life feeling like someone settled for me.
But just when I think I’ve got Gianni Lupo all figured out, he gives me a taste of the man he could be, of the family we could become, of the way he could love me if I let him.
I’m terrified of falling for him.
But one taste might be all it takes.
Melanie Harlow is one of my favorite authors. I just love her books and writing. So after reading every other book in the Cloverleigh Farms series, I knew I wanted to read ‘Taste’ as well. Lucky for me, I got approved to read an ARC, and started reading as soon as possible.
In ‘Taste’ we meet Ellie and Gianni. Ellie and Gianni grew up together and have always had this intense relationship. Gianni always seemed to do stuff just to make Ellie upset. And after a horrible teen experience their already strained relationship, gets even more tense. But now years have gone by, and Ellie and Gianni are grownups.. Thing should be easier. Unfortunately, Gianni still loves to get a rise out of Ellie. But there is something between them, that keeps getting harder to resist. And when they both get stranded in a snowstorm, things get even more heated.
I was so curious to read the story of Ellie and Gianni. I don’t always love these hate-love kind of romance stories, but from the moment I started reading ‘Taste’ I was hooked. I loved getting to know these two characters, and I especially loved to read both their point of views throughout this read.
My favorite character was definitely Gianni. I loved reading his point of view so much. To the outside world he was this handsome, successful and charming chef. But he also had this sensitive side we only get to see because we are reading his part of the story. I loved how he cared more for Ellie than she would have ever imagined. And reading his struggles with his feelings just made me sigh.
But Ellie’s character was also definitely fun. I loved reading how she tried so hard to resist Gianni. It was hopeless off course.. but it sure was fun to read. I also loved those moments between her and her best friend Winnie, the main character of the previous book in this series. Their friendship is definitely one to be admired.
‘Taste’ was simple a great story that I loved right from the start. I’m so in love with these characters and this setting. I definitely can’t get enough of this series and can’t wait to read the next book.
