When we were eleven, Oliver Ford Pemberton dared me to jump off a barn roof. He said you couldn’t break a leg from a 12-foot-jump. He lied. (You can also break a collarbone, which served him right as far as I was concerned.) I wish I could say it was the last dare I ever took from him, the last bet I ever made with him, the last time I ever trusted Oliver Ford Pemberton. But it wasn’t. Because he had the nerve to grow up gorgeous, charming, and sexy. And as we got older, the dares only got dirtier—and the betting stakes higher—until finally, he left me in pieces. I swore I’d never talk to him again. But twenty years after I took that flying leap, he’s back in my life, daring me to risk everything for him: my job, my self-worth, and my heart. How many chances does love deserve?

After reading four books in the Cloverleigh Farms series, I really wanted to read ‘Undeniable’ too. This was the last book in the series I still had to read, so when I got a little time on my reading schedule I decided to finally read this one. ‘Undeniable’ is book two in the series, but can easily be read as a standalone.

In ‘Undeniable’ we read the story of Chloe and Oliver. Chloe and Oliver have grown up together, and have definitely always been good in challenging each other. They even have broken bones together. Chloe and Oliver have been best friends, but when they grew older things changed between them. And not for the good. Chloe has given Oliver a lot of chances, and Oliver .. them all. So when Oliver offers her something she has want for a long time, she is reluctant to give  in. But the one thing Chloe isn’t good in is resisting Oliver.

I’ve been curious about Chloe and Oliver’s story for a while now, and I was super excited to finally be able to start reading. And after I started reading, I definitely couldn’t stop. This book is both written through Chloe and Oliver’s point of view, and it alternates between the past and the present. This might sound confusing, but it wasn’t at all and simple worked for the story.

The two main characters Chloe and Oliver where fun to get to know. I loved how Chloe was very determined to work hard for her dream. She wanted to stand up for herself, and she didn’t trust Oliver in the slightest. And she definitely let him know that. It made for some funny moments.

Oliver was a privileged guy I honestly didn’t like so much. He was very juvenile in my opinion, and I thought he was very lucky Chloe seemed to be unable to resist him. He didn’t deserve all the changes he got if you ask me. And the fact I didn’t like one of the main characters as much, made the romance a bit rough for me. I enjoyed it, but definitely didn’t love it.

Although ‘Undeniable’ wasn’t my favorite read of the series, I enjoyed finally learning the story of Chloe and Oliver. And I definitely would love to read more books by Melanie Harlow in the future.

USA Today bestselling author Melanie Harlow likes her martinis dry, her heels high, and her history with the naughty bits left in. When she’s not writing or reading, she gets her kicks from TV series like Schitt’s Creek, Homeland, and Fleabag. She occasionally runs three miles, but only so she can have more gin and steak. Melanie is the author of the CLOVERLEIGH FARMS series, the ONE & ONLY series, AFTER WE FALL series, the HAPPY CRAZY LOVE series, the FRENCHED series, and the sexy historical SPEAK EASY duet, set in the 1920s. She lifts her glass to romance readers and writers from her home near Detroit, MI, where she lives with her husband, two daughters, and pet rabbit.
