I’m a full-time single dad to three daughters and CFO at Cloverleigh Farms. I don’t have time to fall in love—I’m too busy trying to run a business, keep the red socks out of the white laundry, and get the damn pillowcases on without owing a dollar to the swear jar. Sure, Frannie Sawyer is beautiful and sweet, but she’s twenty-seven, the boss’s daughter, and my new part-time nanny—which means she’s completely off-limits. It’s bad enough I can’t stop fantasizing about her, what kind of jerk would I be if I acted on the impulse to kiss her? (Exactly the kind of jerk you’re thinking.) Actually, I’m worse than that—because I didn’t stop with a kiss, and now I can’t stay away.  She makes me feel like myself again. She reminds me what it’s like to want something just for me. She’s everything I ever needed, but nothing I ever imagined. I’m a former Marine. I should have had the strength to resist her from the start. But I didn’t. And now I have to choose between the life I want and the life she deserves. Even if it means giving her up.

These last view months I’ve been reading the Cloverleigh Farms series by Melanie Harlow. Although these books are part of a series, they can easily be read as standalones. I’ve previously read book three and four in this series, so when I saw that ‘Irresistible’, the first book in the series was for free on Amazon, I couldn’t resist.

In ‘Irresistible’ we read the story of single dad Mack and the youngest Sawyer sister Frannie. Mack is the single dad to his three young daughters. Life is definitely a bit of a struggle at moments. Taking care of three little girls, doing their hair, work, making dinner and trying to make his ex-wife not promise his girls thing she doesn’t plan to follow through.. yes it’s a struggle. And Frannie doesn’t make things easier. Frannie takes care of his girls, is his boss’s daughter, is ten years younger and really beautiful. Frannie is definitely everything he should stay away from.

Well.. I loved the previous two books in this series I read, and I loved this book too. It was just so good. There’s something about these Sawyer sisters that I really like. I think it’s because they are so ‘normal’ and kind. And combine that with the little town of Cloverleigh, and it just works for me.

Mack and Frannie have a lot of chemistry going on between them. It was honestly flying of these pages. And although the romance really was amazing to read about, I think I loved the whole single dad part the most. Mack and his daughters where just so sweet. He is such a wonderful father, and I loved those moments were he thought he was failing.. but those just made him more human. And as a mom myself, I could definitely imagine how he was feeling.

Another great thing about this read is the fact we get to read the story from both Mack and Frannie point of view. That really made this book even more perfect. I loved reading how these two characters grew closer and closer. And I simple couldn’t stop reading until I finished every single page.

‘Irresistible’ was definitely another five star read for me. And I can’t wait to read book two, and book five.

Melanie Harlow likes her martinis dry, her heels high, and her history with the naughty bits left in. When she’s not writing or reading, she gets her kicks from TV series like VEEP, Game of Thrones, Succession, and Homeland. She occasionally runs three miles, but only so she can have more gin and steak. Melanie is the author of the ONE & ONLY series, the AFTER WE FALL series, the HAPPY CRAZY LOVE series, the FRENCHED series, and the sexy historical SPEAK EASY duet, set in the 1920s. She lifts her glass to romance readers and writers from her home near Detroit, MI, where she lives with her husband, two daughters, and pet rabbit.
