As a
fanatic reader and book blogger I loved reading book discussions. And since I
also love having my own book blog I decided to post a book discussion myself.
So join me on my little book discussion journey and let’s have some fun!
kind of have been having a book/reading slump. Not because I don’t have lots of
great books to read but just because I’ve been feeling really tired. Honestly,
this is the longest book slump I’ve had in years. As a fanatic reader I’ve been
used to reading at least two or three books a week for years. Now, I still read
but definitely not as much as used too. And at first I was just feeling really
weird about it, and even a little guilty. But now I just feel like I’m having a
little break, and it will get better soon. Hopefully..
you get out of a book slump? At first I thought the best way would be to start
re-reading one of my favorites. So I did.. But still.. After finishing one book,
I just got trouble starting over in a new one again. And not because I don’t
want to read.. What also doesn’t help is the fact that it’s so cold I feel like
curling up in bed at night.
you do if you’re having a book slump? Do you just accept it? And what do you do
with the books you’ve planned to read? I just feel like I’m so behind which makes
me feel a little stressed, and that will definitely not help my book slump. I could definitely use some of your thoughts.

I hate reading slumps. I hope you find your way out of yours soon. I am not much of a re-reader and so I don't generally go that route, I admit. I may jump into a book by a favorite author though. Or I accept that maybe reading is just not something I want to do in that moment an I focus my attention on another interest or passion I have neglected because of my reading. It sometimes works.
Slowly on I'm getting my reading groove back. But I just find it frustrating that something I really love to do isn't working for me at the moment. Sigh.. But re-reading favorites or reading books from my favorite author definitely seems to work.
Thanks for stopping by! 😉
I've had some slumps of my own over the years. Lately mine has also been due to energy and time. I want to curl up in bed, too. I am falling asleep before I can read most nights. If I'm in a reading slump, though, I try to read a middle grades book. That seems to always get me over the hump and back into books.
Sleep is definitely something that stands in my way too at the moment. I want to read before bed, but I wake up with my book in my hand still on the same page. Frustrating really!
Maybe we are both just in need of summer time? 😉

I wish I had some advice. I'm in my own slump. 🙁
It is nice to know that I'm not alone!
You're definitely not alone. Fortunately I'm pretty much out of my bookish slump now. Reading some of my favorites again definitely helped me out. Good luck 😉
Since I started book blogging, slumps come and go. I don't tend to worry about them anymore, I know they'll pass in time. I usually find when I'm in a slump that I prefer audiobooks as I can multi-task, and feel like I'm still reading. So that's what I do. And yes it's definitely when I'm busy and tired, that they hit hardest.
It's kind of funny right, that something we love so much sometimes just doesn't seem to work. Audiobooks just aren't for me. I tried several times but somehow I just can't seem to find the time to listen to them.
Thanks for stopping by Trish! 😉
