As a fanatic reader and book blogger I loved reading book discussion. And since I also love having my own book blog I decided to post a book discussion myself. So join me on my little book discussion journey and let’s have some fun!
you already know we just came back from our honeymoon last week. Not only was there
a lot of planning before the wedding, but three days after our wedding we went
on our honeymoon so our suitcases had to be packed. More importantly: my books
had to be packed. This still is one of the hardest things I have to do when I’m
going on vacation. Because which books do you take with you? How many do you
take with you? And do you only take your eReader or do you also take paperbacks
and hardcovers?
as a book blogger is definitely hard at times. Well, not hard but a little
frustrating. I want to bring all my books! My husband always asks me why I take
so many books? The answer is simple.. Sometimes I feel like reading for example
a crime novel, and other times I’m in the mood for a romance novel. I need to
pack books for both occasions off course! Simple really!
end I made a list of books I planned to review in the near future, and some
books I really wanted to read someday soon. I packed and updated my eReader,
and I grabbed a stack of books, paperbacks and two hardcovers. Easy! But off
course it didn’t all fit into my suitcase. And my husband just kept looking at
me like I was a little crazy for even trying. I guess only readers and other
book bloggers understand my struggles?!
lot of thinking, pacing around the house and trying to make it fit again, I
ended up with 4 paperbacks, 1 hardcover and a lot of books on my eReader. The
vacation only lasted 9 days, on which we obviously spend some quality time
together and I didn’t get to read all that much (I finished 4 books). But I
wouldn’t have packed less books if things were different. That’s just me and my
book habits. I need to be prepared!! Always!! LOL!
about you? Which books do you take with you on vacation? And how many?

I'd load my kindle with half a dozen longer books, and one fat paperback to read on the plane.
That sounds like a great plan. But I still would have trouble picking which paperback to take with me! Sigh.. Maybe I'm just to difficult 😀
Thanks for stopping by!
I mostly bring my kindle with me on vacation, as I won't have room for many books in my suitcase. I'm lucky though, as we have a vacation home in the north of Spain, and I have some nice bookshelves there… I tend to forget which books are there, though, so last time I went, I created a bookshelf on Goodreads specifically for the physical books I have there.
I read mostly on my kindle, so I have lots and lots of books on it, I don't think I'll ever run out of books to read 😉
And of course, I totally understand your pain in packing, and how you do need to have books for different moods – that's just the basics.

I definitely think they should allow more room for books in planes. LOL!
A vacation home in Spain? Wow.. You really are very Lucky. And how clever that you have a Goodreads shelf especially for there. A second home would definitely make it easier to choose which books to take.. When we were in Lanzarote, there was a Bookshelf in the house were people before us left some books.. If that was yours it would be perfect.. I guess I should be happy that there is such a thing as an eReader now!

My kindle always has tons of books I've downloaded and not yet read on it. Then, I always take a history book and a more literature book as paperbacks or hardbacks. You never know what you're going to feel like reading, right?
That's so true. Sometimes I'm really just in need of reading something completely different than the previous book I read. And I also definitely have moments I like to read something completely out of my comfort zone.
It would have been easy if we knew what we were going to feel like reading next. Sigh.. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!
Thank goodness for the kindle!! I can't believe I procrastinated buying one for so long. Can't live without it now.
Ow.. I know what you're saying. One time my eReader didn't work properly and I had a total breakdown. eReaders are the best. 😉
Mmmm vacation. I want one 😀 you know, back when I didn't have a kindle, I would take AT LEAST three (for a week, I mean :D). After all, what else do you do in a vacation that's not travel based? 90% of the time you read 😀 at least, I would. Then at one point I was studing Japanese and reading in Japanese, at that time I used to even bring my HUGE brick of a dictionary 😀 it was like… it needed a separate bag. I guess I was getting fit? #noregrets
Now I really love the kindle, mostly because I'm a fickle reader and I like reading several things at once, sometimes even switching between two books on the same day (very mood-related). So the kindle is just so perfect, it's also light and small. Best ever! So technically I have pretty much ALL of my TBR with me 😀
So I can definitely get what you mean about wanting to have a good choice. They would never understand 😀 I mean, what's the point of a vacation where you're stuck with a book that turned out to be bad? That would make for a pretty bad vacation! Why go at all then, huh? 😀
I guess I'm lucky though that almost all of my books are ebooks. Otherwise… I totally get why you need to bring a paper one here or there. It's the contents, it's not just the fact that "I'm bringing a book". Your husband is a diletante ;D haha
Loved this post, you can tell from the length of the comment probably 😀
EReaders are definitely the perfect solution for us readers. I remember going on vacation to Greece a view years back, and I didn't have an eReader yet.. I brought four books but I read them all and we still had a week to go. Thankfully we found this bookstore who sold English books.. It was a life saver. As a result I think I'm overpacking when I go on vacation now. LOL!!
Wow.. your brought your dictionary? Love that. And I suppose it was really a good way to get fit at the same time!! :D:D
Thank you for stopping!
