From New York Times bestselling author Elizabeth Hoyt
comes the seventh thrilling title of danger, desire, and dark passions from her
sensual Georgian Maiden Lane series.

A man condemned…

Falsely accused of murder and mute from a near-fatal beating, Apollo Greaves,
Viscount Kilbourne has escaped from Bedlam. With the Crown’s soldiers at his
heels, he finds refuge in the ruins of a pleasure garden, toiling as a simple
gardener. But when a vivacious young woman moves in, he’s quickly driven to
distraction . . .
A desperate woman…
London’s premier actress, Lily Stump, is down on her luck
when she’s forced to move into a scorched theatre with her maid and small son.
But she and her tiny family aren’t the only inhabitants-a silent, hulking beast
of a man also calls the charred ruins home. Yet when she catches him reading
her plays, Lily realizes there’s more to this man than meets the eye.
Out of ash, desire flares..
Though scorching passion draws them together, Apollo
knows that Lily is keeping secrets. When his past catches up with him, he’s
forced to make a choice: his love for Lily . . . or the explosive truth that
will set him free.

My Review:

I
received ‘Darling Beast’ a view weeks ago through the Little Brown Book Group
in exchange for my honest review. What immediately grabbed my intention was the
beautiful cover. I find this cover just gorgeous and I still can’t stop looking
at it. This cover definitely made me want to start reading as fast as I could.
In ‘Darling
Beast’ we meet Lily Stump, A.K.A. Robin Goodfellow. Lily is an big time actress
in serious money problems. Together with her young son, and her maid, Lily is
forced to life in an abandoned an scorched theater. Trying to make the best of
her new home, Lily lets her son Indio play in her garden surrounding the
theater. One day, Indio finds a huge beast of a man in the garden. Even though
this man looks very intimidating he soon finds a friend in Lily’s young son.
And although Lily doesn’t want to admit it, she finds the huge man very
attractive.
Apollo
Greaves, Viscount Kilbourne has escaped from the prison Bedlam and found a
refuge in the gardens of the old theater as a simple gardener. Apollo doesn’t
want anyone to find him and he surely doesn’t need a woman distracting him. But
when Apollo locks eyes with Lily for the first time he is immediately fascinated
by the beautiful actress. Unfortunately for Apollo, getting closer to Lily also
means a bigger risk of being exposed of who he really is.
When I
first started reading ‘Darling Beast’ I wasn’t really sure what I could expect.
I love romantic stories but I sometimes I have a little trouble in liking books
written in another era. Thankfully, ‘Darling Beast’ grabbed my intention very
soon and I really liked this book. I especially liked Apollo’s character. He
was such a strong and sad men and I could easily imagine how Lily would have
fallen in love with him. What I also really loved was how Apollo treated Indio.
He made a damn good father.
Although
I don’t like many books written who takes place in the time of courtesans and
formal balls, I really liked this book. I loved the way Apollo wanted to take
care of Lily and how Lily feared she was not good enough for him because she
was just an actress. I could easily picture all the beautiful dresses and the
beautiful buildings.
This
book was also very thrilling, I feared that there would be no happy ending and
that Apollo would never find true happiness. Elizabeth Hoyt really made you
never want to stop reading.
This
book definitely was worth reading and it never got boring. I would definitely
recommend this book to all romantic book lovers. This book is not only romantic
and beautiful but it also has a sexy twist to it. Definitely one to check out!
