I was super excited when I was approved to read an ARC of ‘Nothing’s Ever Easy’. This is my first book by Amanda Lee Dixon, and the first book in the Nothing’s Ever series. And did you see this cover? Love it! In ‘Nothing’s Ever Easy’ Lily James returns to her home town when she receives ...KEEP READING »

Ignite

After reading the previous five books in the Cloverleigh Farms series, I knew I would want to read every book by Melanie Harlow that came out. So when I saw that ‘Ignite’, book six would be published I got so excited. I signed up before I even read the book description. And as soon as possible I started reading.

In ‘Ignite’ we meet Winnie MacAllister. Winnie is twenty two and done with men and romance. Winnie has been in one bad relationship after the other. She is a romantic through and through, and falls in love fast. So now she is done. She takes a bet with her best friend, and promises herself she wont be falling in love again soon. So when she sees her new handsome neighbor, Dex. She is determined to watch him, but nothing more.

Dex is a single dad and sharing custody of his two little girls with his ex-wife. As an ex- Navy Seal and current firefighter, he is very protective of the people in his life. And he isn’t looking for anything in his life than peace and quiet. But when he meets his much younger new neighbor, he is shocked to find himself instantly attracted to her.

So.. ‘Ignite’ was so much more than I thought it would be. From the very first page I loved these two characters, and I was absolutely hooked to their story. Luckily for me, I had an unusual day of being by myself so I got the whole day to read. And I read the complete book in a day. It was that good!

The chemistry between Winnie and Dex was definitely flying of the pages. They where so different, but so right for each other. And I loved every moment we got to read between these too. I loved how Winnie broke down all Dex’s walls, without even trying. And I especially loved how Winnie proved Dex that age is just a number.

What I also really loved about this book, was the fact we get to read a bit about the characters of the previous books in this series too. But not in a way you would expect. This book takes place years after the previous once. So this is a new generation in Cloverleigh, and I so hope we get to read more. For example about Winnie’s best friend Ellie. I just need to know her story!

‘Ignite’ was a fabulous and amazing read from start to finish. The characters where just amazing right from the start and I loved everything about this read. Bravo Melanie!

The Sky In Summer (Lyon Family Series Book 3)

I must admit I hadn’t heard of Leslie Pike before I saw the sign up for an ARC of ‘The Sky In Summer’. But the book description sounded really fun, so I signed up. And when I got approved to read an ARC, I was super excited and started reading as soon as possible.

In ‘The Sky in Summer’ we meet Layla and Van. Almost thirty years ago they were in kindergarten together, but they lost contact and never saw each other again. Now Layla and Van meet again, and they have an instant chemistry between them that flies off the pages. But Van is a playboy, and Layla is a single mom of teen twins. They have nothing in common, but after all these years they can’t deny they’re curious about each other. And soon they realize there chemistry definitely makes for a intense ‘friendship’. But Van is leaving for Paris only a few months, and he has never the guy for one woman.

‘The Sky in Summer’ was definitely a book I really enjoyed. It is a standalone, but we also get glimpses of the other Lyon siblings whose books are already out there. Yes, it can be read as a standalone. But I do think it will be even better when you’ve read the previous books too. It sure made me very curious about the other books in the series. So my TBR is getting bigger again. LOL!

The relationship between Layla and Van was very fun to read. They made me laugh out loud several times. And their chemistry was definitely something I could feel coming of the pages. I loved there characters, and enjoyed getting to know them. Especially since this book is written through both there point of few. Van was a bit to crude for me at times. But I can look through it.

What I loved most of all about this book, was the fact that these characters where a bit older than most main characters in romance books. Layla is thirty-eight and has two teenaged boys. I loved that. It was really refreshing to read a book about two people who aren’t more than a decade younger than me. LOL!

The writing itself wasn’t my favorite, it felt a bit rushed at times. But the characters and the romance made up for that, and I look forward to reading more books in this series.

Show of Honor (Juniper Ridge, #3.5)

I’ve never read a book by Tawna Fenske before, but when I read the book description of this novella I definitely loved the sound of it. So when I received an ARC, I was excited to start reading.

In ‘Show of Honor’ we read the story of Joe and Jessie. Joe and Jessie met last year at Christmas, and after an amazing night without exchanging names of contact information they both went on with their life. But they both thought about each other a lot. Especially when Jessie found herself being pregnant. Now, a year later they accidentally meet again and when Joe sees Jessie and sees his little girl for the first time, he knows he wants to be in their lives. Not for a night, but forever.

‘Show of Honor’ was definitely a fun read I enjoyed. The romance between Joe and Jessie was fun to read, and I loved their chemistry. I’m not always a fan of the surprise baby trope, but in this book it worked. To be honest, I found the moments between Joe and his little girl definitely the best of this book.

The two main characters Joe and Jessie where definitely amazing. I loved how fierce and tough Jessie was. She was a mom, and did everything for her little girl. But she also wanted to work, and I loved reading her story. Especially her struggles, because I could really relate with them as a mom myself.

And Joe was just very loveable. Kind, handsome, and his relationship with his moms.. I loved it.

‘Show of Honor’ was a short read that made me want to read more in this series. We read a bit about the other characters in this previous books.. and I’m definitely curious now.

Beautifully Broken Redemption (Sutter Lake, #5)

Ever since I started reading the Sutter Lake series, I have been hooked. Every single book in this series has been a 5 star read for me. They are just amazing!! This is definitely the series that made Catherine Cowles one of my favorite authors. So when I got the opportunity to sign up for an ARC, I got super excited and signed up as soon as possible. And when the ARC arrived on my Kindle, I started reading almost immediately.

In ‘Beautifully Broken Redemption’ we read the story of Anna and Mason. Anna has been running the shelter in Sutter Lake for a few year now. She is loving her job and her life. But her past is always there in the back of her mind. Her past also makes it almost impossible for her to trust people. Especially a guy as kind as Mason. He is handsome, rich and charming. Something that is just to be good to be true in Anna’s world. But behind the handsome exterior Mason is also hiding stuff. But from the moment Mason sees Anna, he knows he wants to be more than just an acquittance. Even if that means he has to be very very patient.

I don’t even know where to start with this book! It was absolutely beautiful and I loved every single page even more than I thought I would. This book made me smile, laugh.. And definitely cry. There was just so much going on in this read. And the horror that Anna and Mason had to go through in their teens made me cry my eyes out. Yep, I was definitely bawling! (And it was kind of inconvenient since my little girl was sitting next to me watching some kind of toddler show. LOL!)

The two main characters Anna and Mason might be my favorite two in this series. With the way Anna’s past has been, she could have easily be a horrible woman with some kind of addiction. But instead she takes care of everyone around her, and tries to be the best aunt possible. But trust is hard for her, and relying on others is even harder. Her struggles with letting Mason in, touched me hard.

And Mason.. Well.. What a guy! This guy was definitely swoon worthy. I loved everything about him. He was just so amazingly patient with Anna. And I was really rooting for him from the start. I loved how handsome and tough he was, but also really kind and definitely a softy at times.

I definitely devoured ‘Beautifully Broken Redemption’. There is no other word for it. I loved everything about this book. The romance, the suspense, the side characters, the setting. In one word amazing. If you haven’t read a book in this series yet, go start right away! No time to lose!
