Beneath the Wreckage (Wrecked, #5)

This was one of those books I was looking forward reading for a long time. ‘Beneath The Wreckage’ is the fifth book in the Wrecked series, and I have absolutely adored every single book in this series so far. So when I got the opportunity to read ‘Beneath The Wreckage’, Piper and Hunter’s story,  I couldn’t wait to start reading as soon as possible.

In ‘Beneath The Wreckage’ we meet Piper. Piper is returning to the Island she visited with her family when she was growing up. It was the perfect place, and Piper and her best friend always dreamed of living their someday. That is until her best friend disappears. Now, years later, Piper is determined to make her childhood dreams come true in honor of her best friend.

Back on the Island Piper meets Hunter. From the moment they met, its clear there is a lot of chemistry between the two. But both Piper and Hunter have a lot of stuff to get through.

Well.. even though this is already book five in the series, this series is still as good as the start. From the moment I started reading I couldn’t put it down. The two main characters Piper and Hunter, where so fun to get to know. Piper is this hardworking tough woman who doesn’t stop until she gets what she wants. And Hunter is the same, but he is also someone who takes care of the people he loves. And soon Piper and Hunter grow closer and closer.

The romance and chemistry between Piper and Hunter is amazing. It’s a slow burn romance, which kept me hooked and I simple couldn’t get enough of them. Hunter is one of those characters that made you wish he was real. Sigh..

Next to a great romance, the suspense in this book was pretty damn good too. There is a lot happening around Piper, and I had no clue what was going on till the very last page. I love that. This book pulled me in right from the start, and I just wanted to keep on reading. Both Piper and Hunter are definitely one of my favorite couples.

‘Beneath The Wreckage’ was another five star read for me. I loved everything about it and would definitely recommend it. What a great series the Wrecked series is. I hope there will be more books.

Keeping You

When I first read the book description about ‘Keeping You’, I knew this was a book I wanted to read. I love small town stories. And there just was something about this book that called to me. So I was super excited when I received an ARC. And as soon as possible I started reading.

In ‘Keeping You’ we read the story of Honey and Colin. Honey has always been underestimated. After losing her opportunity to go to cooking school because of a guy, she kind of lost her way. Now she has just quit her current job, and is desperate to start over. The small town where her sisters lives, sounds like the perfect place to start over. The only problem is Colin McCoy. Colin is the owner of the towns bar, and he is extremely handsome. Colin and Honey had a one night stand months ago, and although it was amazing.. Honey just wants to do things on her own. But Colin is determined to win Honey over.

From the moment I read about ‘Keeping You’, I wanted to read this book. And when I started reading, I was excited to learn this book was definitely one I really enjoyed right from the start. The two main characters Honey and Colin, are definitely my kind of characters. Hardworking, determined and they have a lot of chemistry. The romance between them was amazing and I loved learning their story.

My favorite character was Colin. I loved just everything about him. He was a bar owner, but also a musician. And from the moment he laid eyes on Honey all those months ago he was hooked. I loved how patient het was with Honey. And reading this book from both Honey and Colin’s point of view made everything even better.

The dirty talk between Honey and Colin was a bit too much for me. But it didn’t bother me to much. I just loved these characters too much to really care about this little bit that didn’t work for me. There where also some moments that in the end didn’t really add a lot to the story in my opinions. But these where the only minor issues I had with this read.

‘Keeping You’ was a great story that kept me hooked from start to finish. When I learned that this was book two in the series, I got even more excited. I definitely plan on reading book one too. Lena Hendrix is definitely an author I hope to read more of.

All Night Long with a Cowboy (Kittredge Ranch, #2)

I always love a good cowboy story and I sure love Caitlyn Crews writing. So when I was able to read an ARC of ‘All Night Long With A Cowboy’, I got super excited. After reading the first book in the Kittredge Ranch series,‘Secret Nights With A Cowboy’, I was definitely curious to read this second book and started reading as soon as I could.

In ‘All Night Long With A Cowboy’ we read the story of Jensen Kittredge, a notorious cowboy who is known for being a womanizer. So when Jensen meets Harriett Barnett, a high school librarian no one things much about it. But there is something about Harriett that makes Jensen fascinated.

From the moment I started reading I was definitely fascinated with Jensen and Harriett’s story. These two characters couldn’t be more different, but I loved them. Jensen seemed to be this arrogant playboy to the outside world but we soon see there’s much more to him. And Harriett is a quiet librarian who’s life changes the moment she meets Jensen in a bar.

I must admit that I found Harriett’s character a bit hard to love at times. I can’t even really explain why to be honest. She was this kind of character I should love. A librarian, strong willed, not easily persuaded by men.. But still she had something about her I didn’t love as much. Luckily for me, Jensen’s character definitely made up for that. Boy did I love his character. And the interactions between Jensen and Harriett where definitely fun. Although I didn’t feel their chemistry as much at first.. I definitely did in the end.

‘All Night Long With A Cowboy’ was definitely a story I enjoyed. And I look forward to reading more books in this series.

A Kiss For Christmas (Novella)

Anyone who knows me will say that I’m definitely one of those people who loves everything about Christmas. It’s my absolute favorite time of year. So obviously, I also love reading Christmas books.. especially the romantic ones. Add one of my favorite authors, Carrie Elks.. And I’m hooked! ‘A Kiss For Christmas’ is a brand new novella that introduces the two main characters of Carrie Elks new book ‘Welcome To Winterville’ that will be published on September 30th. And the best thing? You can read the novella too for free. Just sign up for Carrie Elks mailing list.

In ‘A Kiss For Christmas’ we meet Holly and Josh. Holly’s family has been a big part of the Winterville Christmas festivities for a long time and Holly has always loved it. Unfortunately this year Holly isn’t looking forward to it at all, that is until Josh comes to the little town because his car has broken down. Soon Holly is showing Josh around, and things start to heat up between them. But Josh is supposed to leave the country in only a day.

I definitely loved everything about ‘A Kiss For Christmas’. It’s the perfect novella that made me want to dive right into ‘Welcome To Winterville’. We get a nice glimpse inside the Christmas filled town, and the chemistry between the two main characters Holly and Josh is already flying of the pages. I can’t wait to get my hands on the book.

So.. Set the Christmas radio station on, pull on your comfy sweater and let the romance begin.. I can’t wait to read more.
